The Aperture, the first full-scale restaurant project from Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown. The menu reflects the concept of Mediterranean mezze style dining, consisting of many small plates, rustic in nature and reflective of seasonality and creates a natural progression and flow for the dining experience. The Aperture’s menu reflects three fundamental tenets: intention, balance, and focus. The menu - and its individual dishes - are approached with the objective of putting critical thought into every component, eliminating the extraneous, and ensuring a natural flow across the menu. The culinary program is heavily influenced by the cuisine of the broader Mediterranean region and the simple, seasonal cooking of Southern France, Italy, Greece, and the Levant.

    The food was very good, but nothing that was so wonderful that it would be worth a second trip, especially given the overall cost of the meal. The special potato was not on the menu but there was definitely a flat patty type thing I saw being served so maybe you can ask for it. The dishes we liked best were the squash with hollandaise and the lumanche pasta.

    The food quality was excellent as well as the service. The portion sizes were much too small for the price point. The prices were New York city like which doesn't make sense here in Cincinnati...especially when I went home hungrey after spending $200.00 for dinner for two without dessert or after dinner drinks. This restaurant is a potential asset to a developing neighborhood. I hope they make adjustments to better meet the market. My fear is that people will try it once and never go back. Repeat business and great word of mouth reviews are critical to long term success.

    Great new place with interesting menu. Hamachi Collar and tempura cod were especially good. Only negative was that pastas and striped bass had much too much rich sauce. I’d definitely return.

    Such a great meal. Yet, since it was the night before Thanksgiving, we ate only a small amount. Really need to come back hungry and have a full meal. The dessert menu looked amazing! Service was exceptional.

    Server was helpful and attentive. Unfortunately the food did not live up to expectations. The carrot dish tasted like nothing but cumin and both pasta dishes we ordered were over salted and greasy. The sweet potato dish was the highlight, but overall the bad outweighed the good. Would not recommend.

    Aperture is a fantastic dining experience! My friend is a pescatarian, and the staff had a special menu ready, complete with thoughtful notes to accommodate their preferences. We trusted our server’s recommendations, selecting five different plates tailored to what we were in the mood for, and every dish was spot on. The food came out in perfect cadence, allowing us to enjoy each plate without feeling rushed or waiting too long. The service was attentive but not intrusive—just the right balance. It’s clear that the team here cares about creating an exceptional experience. I’d absolutely come back again!

    This restaurant has an open feel, so not very warm and cozy. Quite drafty actually when the door opens. The pita bread and hummus wasn’t nearly as good as Abigail’s. The hamachi wasn’t very flavorful at all! The squash was delightful, as was the pork shoulder. The cod was ok as was the duck. Servers kept taking our food and drinks even though still a few bites and sips were left. Felt very rushed. We might not go back.

    Hi Michele, I'm sorry your experience with us did not live up to your expectations. We never want guests to feel that they are being rushed, or pushed out at all. I will speak to our front of house staff about how to clear tables in a manner that doesn't make our guest feel uncomfortable. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.     Jordan and his back of the house crew prepared amazing food. While Sam took care of us at the table. It was an incredible food & drink experience. I would recommend anyone looking for a food experience to try Aperture. You will not be disappointed. One of the best dinner spots in the city!!!

    Innovative dishes with elegant & unusual spices. Staff is very friendly and provide excellent service. Great food in a very relaxed atmosphere.

    Been wanting to come to the Aperture for quite some time. Joined on a snowy night with a friend and the restaurant was still very busy. We wanted to try many things and share to get a feel for the menu. We started with the triple hummus. All were good with the Black Garlic standing out. Then to the vegetable course as they paired it out. This was outstanding!!! The honeynut squash was one of the best vegetable bites I have had. It jumped off the plate mirroring an almost sweet potato casserole vibe but fresh and super on point. The carrots were also amazing. The puree combined with the charred carrots were outstanding. I kind of wish we had stopped there. We had a pasta course and were super disappointed. We even added the truffle to the duck dish. Both the truffle and the duck did not add much to a very pedestrian dish, but at $55 dollars it should have shined. The entree course was better but not outstanding. The lamb was very good and maybe we were just super full by then (way over ordered but wanted to try so many things). It could have had a bit more complexion to the dish. The last dish we tried was the bass. The sauce was really quite strong and enjoyed it. As we look back on it though, wish we had stopped at the vegetable course. That’s where Aperture shines. Would come again, but be much choosier on the courses.
