The Aperture, the first full-scale restaurant project from Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown. The menu reflects the concept of Mediterranean mezze style dining, consisting of many small plates, rustic in nature and reflective of seasonality and creates a natural progression and flow for the dining experience. The Aperture’s menu reflects three fundamental tenets: intention, balance, and focus. The menu - and its individual dishes - are approached with the objective of putting critical thought into every component, eliminating the extraneous, and ensuring a natural flow across the menu. The culinary program is heavily influenced by the cuisine of the broader Mediterranean region and the simple, seasonal cooking of Southern France, Italy, Greece, and the Levant.

    Honestly one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The flavors were simply incredible-complex, balanced, developed. We ordered 6 small plates to share between 2 and it was perfect. Only one tiny take out box to savor later. Servers were knowledgeable and friendly. Come on Michelin! Come taste this new Cincinnati gem.

    Let's hope this fantastic restaurant sticks around and maintains its very high standards for many years. Top marks for every dish we ordered; drinks; service; ambience (we sat at the bar and it was quite nice with wonderful bartender helping us out). The Smoked Butter Cornbread dessert was one of the best ends to a meal I've ever had: just perfect. We had a window counter reservation but seats came open at the bar and we were accommodated there right away because we were on a bit of a schedule. Staff were pleasant, professional and helpful. We will be back; and we will tell our friends.

    We made a reservation and all that was left was the counter. It happened to be below 20 degrees outside and by the front door was quite chilly. The counter spots are on the windows of the restaurant- so looking out on McMillan was not very appealing. Our waiter was efficient. However there was a feel of rush. The menu font is tiny. When I asked him a question his answer seemed short and curt. Never offered his name or any pleasantries. We spent the evening never the less to experience the hype around the chef and the food. The articles we read are right on, each dish was remarkable flavor. Served on white plates- the food was the art. We had eggplant hummus with black garlic, charred carrot snd lumache. My Sincette Gropello wine was delicious. We spent the next morning looking closer at the menu and the ingredients. We marveled at each dish and the flavors. We will go back- hopefully to a table spot. So cool that a Men’s department store is now lively again with a vibrant restaurant and wonderful chef.

    Excellent variety of choices including a gluten-free pasta. Reasonable wine prices and interesting grapes and wineries. It was our 2d visit and the 4 newbies were very pleased with the evening. Duck breast and stuffed pasta were totally yummy

    We ask our server to bring us a variety of the chef’s favorite dishes so we could share. She brought us nine and all but one was fabulous.

    Wonderful service. We had the hummus, chicken liver pate, and the sweet potato with brown butter hollandaise and corn bread. They cheerfully offered gluten free menu options. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended. There is a large public parking lot behind the restaurant.
