The Avenue has recently refurbished to a very high standard. We have a fantastic range of draught lagers, bitters and ciders. We are especially proud of our range of real ales and our great selection of delicious Food! We are serving great quality Steaks, from the grill and more Pub Classics. Visted on a Tuesday evening went for the chaper mid week menu .Great value for money .Friendly staff .Pub was quiet but it was Tuesday

Beautiful quaint pub, amazing food! Was able to still have Sunday lunch at 6pm which was beautifully cooked! Would recommend and will be back this evening for another meal. Staff were so friendly and nothing too much trouble.

Lovely Sunday lunch, only 2 people serving a busy lunch period but they coped very well and were pleasant throughout.

Not impressed at all. I booked The Avenue as I have seen post of beautiful pictures of food and of the pub but they sadly were not true to life. The table was booked for 19:30, I mentioned at the bare that we had a table booked, we were ushered to a table in the middle on a 'rat run' to the smoking area. The table adjacent to us, people would just 'plonk' their bit & pieces (or even their partner) on the way our for a smoke. Upon ordering We didn't know if we should go the the bar of wait at the table as there was no communication with the bar staff, other than 'We have no prawns'. When I got up to go to the bar, the bar staff came over. When we ordered, I ordered hunters chicken, my partner ordered gammon (there was no pineapple either!) upon arrival of the food, the bar singer decided to pipe up.....WHY WERE WE NOT IN THE RESTAURANT?? With the constant troupe of smokers and the singing, we may have well been sat in Durham market place on a Saturday afternoon! The food was fair but the atmosphere was shocking. We will sadly not be returning to The Avenue pub...

Due to popularity of venue and having discounted food, serving staff seemed slightly overwhelmed and we had to wait an hour for food to be served. However, once the food was ready, it was hot and tasted good. Also steaks and fish were off the menu, however not surprising with the steaks as all food was 50% off and steaks are one of the more costly items on the menu. Would recommend though maybe not when there are deals on, due to being more popular.
