The food and wine were great but the small setting causes issues with hearing your companions but the acoustics are great when you hear everyone else’s conversation. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with some dietary restrictions (gluten free). Careful to do your research prior to ordering so you know what to expect with portions although the flavor is amazing.

I would love to pinpoint a shining star moment from our dinner at The Black Pearl but I cannot. I cannot because the dining experience at The Black Pearl was phenomenal from the first greeting to the final goodbye. Each course continued to raise the bar beyond our expectations. The house salad is a force with which to be reckoned followed by a palate cleanser that was so unexpected I wished for a second helping of the delicious frozen lychee pops. The homemade pasta and seared filet tips left me wanting to seek out a long lost Italian lover. My wife enjoyed her white truffle lobster risotto so much she likely wouldn't have noticed my exit. But thank God I stuck around to try out the delectable chef made chocolate truffles infused with pumpkin. This dining experience is not one we soon forget and we will surely return b

Wonderful meal - every course was better than the last. The filet had a perfect crust and melted in your mouth ! Strongly recommend this restaurant.

What an amazing evening! The ambiance was intimate and enjoyable! The food-spectacular!! The service-top notch!! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience!!

The best fine dining in the Clearwater/Dunedin area! The food is exquisite, the personal care and service is amazing. Each course dovetails to the next. Chef has a wonderful talent for blending spices and flavors to create a culinary taste sensation. Never disappoints! Thanks to all who run this wonderful "Pearl" in Dunedin. Oh, and even though we don't drink, we have looked at the wine menu and they have a fine selection.

We ate at The Black Pearl for the first time last night and it was excellent! What a hidden little gem in Dunedin. We love the small quaint setting. It has an elegant atmosphere despite being in a small downtown location. All of the wait staff are very knowledgeable and attentive. The sommelier’s wine pairing recommendations were perfect. Everything we ate was delicious and the presentation was exactly what you would expect for a more high-end restaurant. It is perfect for any special occasion! We will definitely return.

Table of six. Went for a birthday celebration. Dinner was delicious. No complaints from anyone. They were able to suggest wines that paired well with our food and champagne as well.

We have been going to the Black Pearl for a few years now, and it never disappoints, the staff the food always outstanding. Don’t want to say too many good things otherwise it’ll be impossible to get in when we want return.
