   Ordered a burger with no cheese for a dairy allergy. Burger came with cheese, and we sent it back. The same burger came back to the table with the cheese scraped off. Completely unacceptable.

   Our first time here since it changed from Lumiere and we will be sure to go back. Very friendly service at the roomy bar. Had a perfect dry martini and the quality of the wine is top shelf. The caesar salad with swordfish skewer was perfect, the arancini, big and melty and the mussels were a good size portion, perfect for sharing. The staff aims to please and you can tell since there were many repeat customers. A perfect place to hang out or catch a drink or bite before a movie across the street at the West Newton Cinema. And the amazing part? $1 oysters from 3-5pm daily, nice and cold and well shucked. Thank you!

   I have been to the Bluebird a few times. It is convenient to my home. I thought the food was ok. However, this last visit two days ago I changed my opinion. The food was really good. Especially memorable was the doughnut hole dessert. Service was very good as well. Still a little noisy... but that is my only complaint.

   This was our third time at The Bluebird Bar, our first for a special occasion, a birthday. We ordered mussels as an appetizer, which were absolutely delicious and plentiful. The main course of salmon, which my husband asked to have cooked through was good, but kind of bland. My steak tips were good and came with fries that were exceptional! The curious part came towards the end of our time there. We were well-fed, but might have ordered a dessert, since this was a birthday celebration. The bill came and no dessert menu was offered, nor was any little gesture made in honor of the birthday. The person seating us did give happy birthday wishes verbally, but that was it. Most times we and friends have eaten out to celebrate a birthday, some gesture has been made at other restaurants. We enjoy The Bluebird Bar and will return, but my advice to the restaurant is to pay some kind of tangible attention to someone celebrating a birthday with you.

    First time at the restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Hostess and wait staff all full of smiles and very attentive. Three of us had kabobs and one had steak tips. Everything came out hot and well presented. Very satisfying meal and we’ll certainly go back again. The baba ghanoush was a killer appetizer.
