The Boarding Houses, The original country hotel dates back to 1770 making this one of the oldest pubs in Renfrewshire, and keeping in the spirit of the original Howwood Inn, which boasted two bars serving a wide range of whiskies and ales. Our pub The Ale House continues the tradition with a vast selection of Whisky, Gins, Ales and our restaurant serves the finest locally sourced food making the Boarding House the true home of honest food.

                                                                                                                                Lovely Sunday lunch, young boy that served us was really pleasant and Leanne was amazing as usual with the kids. My granddaughter loves her as she takes time to speak to the kids and makes them feel welcome. Great Value for money on the Sunday Lunch Menu

Heard some differing reports but nothing be better.staff were young vibrant helpfully. Food was to a very high standard and reasonably priced too..overall a great place to eat had a great time..will be back. Cheers

                                                                                                                                Food was nice, sea bass it’s self was lovely but the potatoes/veg were drowned in an unpleasant lemon sauce. Lovely decor but lacked atmosphere, stuck out on a wee table in the middle of the floor when there was others. Waitress was more officious than efficient, felt a bit rushed and snatched menus and glasses away from us. Fair value for money and I will give it another go as big menu to chose from. Suggest selling champagne by the glass 😀

                                                                                                                                Boarding House staff were very friendly on arrival, table service was very good our host Holly was very friendly, professional and very competent during our meal, food was very good ,menu was very good, catering for all tastes, we experienced no concerns whatsoever, during our visit. We would highly recommend to family and friends for sure
