A Historical Coaching Inn with Traditional bar and a formal dining room; both with its own character.

We serve a great selection of pub classics, using as much produce from the nearby Ripley Castle Estate & Gardens as possible. Our chefs are constantly inspired to create special dishes to take advantage of the 2000 acre Estate and extensive Walled gardens produce.

We serve a selection of popular local real ales and have guest beers on a regular basis including some rare gems, so there is always a reason to pop into the bar.

There is a well structured and varied wine list suitable for all levels of wine drinker from affordable afternoon drinking through to more powerful and exquisite wines, which can be matched to our dishes to create a full dining experience.

We cater for any number of guests from couples to larger parties, families and dog friendly tables in the bar.

Please note we are unable to reserve tables outdoors.

Amazing Sunday lunch, we sat in the bar area as we had a dog with us. A little bit noisy due to families enjoying themselves, but not unbearable. Looking forward to a return visit.

Excellent service and food, as usual. The Theakstons Old Peculier was delicious.

Yes had a super evening it was dad's birthday and we had a great time. Food and staff were great.

This food is way beyond “pub grub”. Open fires, friendly service and “Yorkshire portions” of high quality food. Quite outstanding

Very pleasant experience. Glad we were in the restaurant as other areas were very loud. Attentive, courteous, friendly staff. Large portions of pretty good roast beef dinner but veg was cold and greens very hard. Declined the desserts as we both felt they were very expensive. Would however eat again and commend to others. Thanks.

Very good Sunday lunch we were seated in the Restaurant area which was a lot quieter than the Bar area. Food was very good and wholesome,rare roast beef, large home made Yorkshires,wife had Roast Pork,and it was very generous in portion size. I had to help her finish it lol. lovely al-dente veg carrots green beans mash roasts and red cabbage with cauliflower cheese. Quite a plateful for less than Twenty Pounds each at time of writing October 2024. Service excellent with no service charge on the bill, but certainly deserved the tip left. Price of a Pint over Five Pounds but very good quality and very well served and that's par now in any higher end Restaurants anywhere. proof is its always full and booking ahead a must.Hard to find fault

Visited for Harrogate Restaurant Week. Staff really helpful and accommodating. Good value set menu with generous Yorkshire portions! Nice veggie option & good range of beers on tap. Thank you very much, team Boar's Head, we will return.
