   Our experience at the boat house was poor. We have traveled from Glasgow for the night and pre booked dinner. Our booking was for 7:30pm and when arrived were notified they close at 8pm. I ordered a pornstar martini and the girl behind the bar vocally told her staff members how she didn’t want to make that and wanted to make another drink? The boy came over to take our order the time now being 7:45pm and openly said “ the chef is going to kill me for this”. We are not from the area and if had known wouldn’t have booked for 7:30pm. We had to leave and find somewhere else for food as we had been travelling and were looking forward to the meal. The menu online doesn’t match the menu in the restaurant. They offer only 5 main courses and don’t offer the steak etc that is advertised on the menu. This was a really poor evening and bookings should not be allowed at this time knowing food cannot be prepared to a standard and making customers feel like they are unwelcome. Unfortunately this has ruined our opinion and will not be back.

   Beautiful setting next to the marina. Staff were professional and very welcoming and attentive. Food was great!

   Lovely food and great service. This is the 3rd or 4th time we’ve eaten here and it’s always excellent.

   We went at lunch time on Saturday in February so it was very quiet but the service was very good and the food was lovely. We had mussels and teriyaki beef to start followed by the gammon and pizza for means. We were tempted by the desserts but didn’t leave enough room so reluctantly declined. We would definitely return.

   The staff were brilliant the last that Served us was excellent 👌👌 very attentive and a credit to the resteraunt deserves recognition. Confused about the fusion of foods, food potentially lacked BUT was still good. Definitely a place to take children to get used to fine dining. Again the server was amazing. He deserve credit. Young ISH lad, tall,lovely guy Thank you

   Location is lovely, right on the water. Staff are great and really helpful. The food wasn’t as good as we had expected, it was ok for the price, you are paying an uplift because of the location.

    The menu was limited for myself being pescatarian however I found some items I could eat. However I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. I only ate the orange sorbet. The main course of seabass and rissotto was extremely spicy and was not advertised to be spicy. ( I can not eat spicy foods as I have chrohns disease). The table service was extremely slow with only a few waiters on. So it took three hours for a few courses. It seemed very disorganized. Also for the price we expected some kind of entertainment during the meal. Lots of other places had entertainment on but we picked yourselves as I was informed during the dinner an entertainer would be on. Truly disappointing . In future it would be best to ask if anyone has any allergies or food preferences? Also not add spices when not advertised

    Hi Sarah, Our menu was shared in advance, enabling guests to review and pre-order based on their specific needs. We regret that the pescetarian option did not meet your expectations. To ensure proper accommodations, we encourage guests to inform us of allergies or health conditions, such as Crohn’s disease, at the time of booking or pre-ordering. Regarding the event timeline, our pre-event communication outlined the evening’s structure. The service format, including pacing, was detailed in our email sent December 18, 2024, at 7:28 PM a 2.5-3 hour service for five courses with welcome drinks and canapés aligns with standard event timings.
