On a sunny day, tables are allocated outside based on the date the booking was made (early birds!) We will do our upmost to accommodate you outside if we can. Please call us on the day to see where you will be seated as special requests are not guaranteed. We have zero tolerance for aggressive behaviour.

The Boatman, is Windsor’s only pub on the river at the foot of Windsor Castle overlooking Eton Bridge. Serving freshly cooked food all day everyday from midday to 9pm at night, in the cosy bar, restaurant or in the stunning riverside all-weather conservatory, there is a fine selection of wine, ales, cocktails to choose from.
The bar area and terrace is dog friendly, we cannot accept any pets in the conservatory or restaurant.

Menus on website not available. Had to order of the a la carte. Only 10 oz steak available. Desserts very expensive. Don’t think the meal was worth what we paid.

This was my first visit to the Boatman. Reasons I chose it other than the good reviews was location (on the river) and the choice on the menu. I’m a personal trainer and do struggle sometimes to find ‘healthier’ options so I’m his menu was a blessing ! So many different choices. I went for Seabass with new potatoes and fine beans on the side. It was absolutely delicious and a really good amount of food too 😮 The food was served in a really good time considering it was very busy. We sat in the outside area and although it was warm, they kindly turned the heat off in our section. The staff were really welcoming and helpful - they checked on us a couple of times and couldn’t do enough. Can’t wait to go back !

Lovely food but we were sat in the conservatory which was full of Xmas party people and very loud and we wanted a pub atmosphere, if I go again i would ask to be inside the pub.

Food is getting better each time I go. Small but thoughtful menu. Small but very clever wine list, with a lovely pink Prosecco. Three different large ambiences: outside by the Thames, inside a well climatised marquee, or inside the old building. Near other Windsor attractions, although I’m a resident. Moving fast up my list of favourite restaurants
