The facility is kind of run down, and there was a whiff of trash smell that kept up through most of our visit. Service was attentive, but we were the only table there for most of the time. One diner ordered Cajun seafood pasta and found it overly salty. Shrimp tacos were very good. Gumbo tasted good but no okra in it. Prices were really high for the quality of the overall experience.

I was pleasantly surprised! Felt like I had my own personal chef. This is a hidden jewel. Give it a try.

We didn't actually eat, so not sure how the food is. The restaurant called to change my 6:30 reservation to 6:45, which was fine. When we arrived at 6:44, the restaurant wasn't that busy but looks like many tables are reserved. We got seated and for more than 15 minutes no one came to greet us or give us water. We saw many people there before us had not gotten their food and decided it won't get any better so we left.

We went to the Boldthouse for restaurant week. The courses were hit and miss. Service was nice but slow likely do to the higher volume. The location is convenient but a bit run down. Overall glad we tried out another local place but probably won't be going back.

Small and quaint place but the food is outstanding!! The exterior is underwhelming but go in and enjoy very good food and great wine/beer selections. The person that waited on us was great, personable, and made us feel welcome! We will definitely go back!

We wanted to try something local. We are from out of town, and took our 2 teenage sons. We were greeted when entering and found a table. The location wasn’t busy, but there were several people at the bar and a couple of people at tables. We waited a bit for the bartender/waitress, Susie, to come bring us menus and water. We ordered an appetizer, truffle fries, and they were pretty good. We ordered our dinners. There were 4 of us. One ordered the steak sandwich, another seafood pasta, another fried chicken, and I ordered the salmon. Susie was amazing at keeping our waters full, but she was the only server and bartender. We ended up waiting quite a while for our food. Susie explained that we had ordered the options that required the most time to prepare, but that she had everything but the salmon ready. We had already waited about an hour for our food.. so I said to go ahead and bring our those plates. It didn’t bother me at all to have the rest eat. It was perfectly fine. So she did. It wasn’t but a few minutes and the salmon came out. Everyone raved about their dinners and I had one of the best sauces I’ve ever tasted. The salmon came with a ponchartrain sauce… and it made me want to lick the entire plate. So delicious. Price was as expected. And we left happy. We recommend The Boldthouse, but be prepared to wait a bit. It’s completely worth it.

I normally enjoy my time here at this restaurant, but NYE was not good at all. Wait Service was absolutely horrible and our food just as bad. Hope this was a one off.

This is definitely a hidden gem! We will be back for their amazing charcuterie board and steaks that are grilled to perfection.

This place is a cozy little spot to enjoy some good wine, cold beer, and yummy food just around the lake.

We had an amazing (!) night in Boldthouse during our stay in Houston. I don’t usually write reviews, but now felt needed to share this. We were there with 3 teenagers and 3 adults on a Saturday night. Food was really tasty and our waitress Lydia was such a lovely person. We would go there again at any time!
