The good: great menu filled with foraged & locally farmed products. Several decent and creative cocktails on the menu. Most of the courses were great. The server was friendly enough. The music selection was good. The not so good: The place was almost empty and the music was really loud. I commented about the loud music (we'd have to yell at each other to hear), but it wasn't turned down. My main, the nettle fetuccini, had a 'urinal cake'-type flavour I just couldn't get past. (I hope it was just some weird spice and not...) If the music gets turned down I think more people into local/organic/foraged would go there. Its menu made me think the place should be packed, but overall it just didn't quite get there, in terms of awesomeness. With a few tweaks, it could.

Our server was very polite. We enjoyed the margarita flatbread, mushroom soup, lobster salad roll as veggie lasagna which was the best I’ve had in a restaurant. The location can’t be beat!

Food was fantastic; between the table we tried a number of sandwiches. The salmon burger was the hands down winner. The capers were the star of the plate. Beer selection is small, but we tried 3 of the 6 and they were all delish. Only downside was that they seemed understaffed. Service was super friendly but very slow.

Our server was very pleasant, patient and helpful. My wife has a very limited diet right now, and we managed to find several things that met her criteria. She said the chicken was the best she'd ever had! We found the prices to be reasonable and liked that we could get a small glass of a beverage. We will recommend it and bring some friends next time! We had been in the tasting room on a previous occasion as the bistro was being renovated. It has changed a lot from what it used to be....we found the music very loud and had to move twice because of it. Much prefer the tasting room for a more intimate atmosphere...the bistro is very open and even though there were very few customers it seemed excessively loud. But the food was great...best fish & chips we have had in a long time, and gluten-free at that!
