   Our reservation was at 4:45pm on a Sunday, when we arrived they were completely out of fish and chips, pasta for kids, cheesy cauliflower and one other dish. The only thing they would provide for kids was a burger or a roast but the Sunday menu was already limited so our options were slim. 3 adults ordered burgers (which on the menu noted double patties) after an extremely long wait for our drink and food the burgers arrived with only one patty. I pointed it out to the server and they went to “check with the chef”. It was clear they knew they were also Out of enough burgers to fulfill our orders of a double burger but served it without letting us know. They apologized, but again served it to us without letting us know we were being given a half portion. Service not up to par and was very slow. Continuously seems to disappoint if you go on any weekend or as they refer to as “busy” days.

   Good pub, good food, good ambience but on the day there were two waiters to serve the entire pub which was full and two staff in the kitchen. They were very good and polite and did well but you can’t run a pub that size like that.

   Truly excellent food and service. It’s a bit on the pricey side but the quality makes it worth it

   Champagne was not cold, pasta was overdone, lettuce and tomato in salad were cold and not at all reflective of price. It was also stone quiet on at 8:30 on a Thursday. Staff was friendly and ambience (besides lack of other customers) was good but nothing else to recommend this place.

Our sincere apologies for your experience with us not being on par with what we usually offer our guests. We react as best we can if ever this is the case (the bubbly and the pasta being removed from the bill), and rest assured the kitchen team will be offering a much improved version of the ravioli dish, in the future!    We had very enjoyable Sunday roasts, well cooked and large portions. Imaginative desserts. Very agreeable and efficient service. The upstairs area has great period charm, and there is plenty of space between the tables.

   My wife and I came from Chichester to meet my son and daughter in law for lunch. On a cold inclement day the welcome from the staff at The bull was first rate. My son and his wife had the roast beef, which on arrival, was attractively displayed. And they both enjoyed their lunch. My wife had sea bass, which she enjoyed; albeit she felt the portion was a touch small. I had fish and chips, which was not exceptional. In summary I felt the roast was over priced, the Sea Bass portion was too small, hence, also, not good value for money, and the fish and chips was very ordinary. Again, though, I would just underline the point that the staff were first rate and created a very good atmosphere In conclusion I would not wish to provide an overall negative impression of The Bull and I can understand why, in London, the pub it is held in high regard

I'm afraid our price point is conditioned by a great many factors - a fair share of them beyond our control. What we can control and improve upon is the quality of the dishes we serve and the manner in which we serve them, so we'll be looking at those that you mentioned and consider how to better them.
