The Canteen is a full-service neighbourhood restaurant in Downtown Dartmouth, serving up chef-inspired seasonal fare for lunch, brunch and dinner. At the helm in the kitchen is award-winning chef and co-owner Renee Lavallee.     We had an awesome evening with our two kids to celebrate our daughters birthday! The staff were great making sure to elevate the celebration. Food was delicious especially the crab dip which is easily the kids new favourite.

    I enjoyed the food; I wasn't impressed by asking for my Caesar drink muddy and being charged extra after dropping a few hundred dollars.

    It was a great meal! I wish there were some alternative meats for the brunch as I don’t eat pork and almost every dish had pork.

    Great location, quaint and cute, great servers. Make sure you arrive with a reservation.. I don't recommend just walking in.. however they do accept walk ins.
