The South Cotswolds holds many attractions and events and the Cat is superbly situated to be able to enjoy many of these. Both the historic towns of Tetbury and Malmesbury are within a stone’s throw of us.

A three-mile radius encompasses Westonbirt Arboretum and Westonbirt school, Highgrove gardens, and the Beaufort polo club. Badminton and Gatcombe horse trials are both within easy reach. We are 24 miles from the Roman spa town of Bath and from the city of Bristol, both with their many attractions. Cheltenham races are 34 miles from the Cat.

Apart from these attractions, we are in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) with many wonderful walks direct from our front door. We welcome well-behaved dogs.
Our chef’s mission is to serve delicious pub food at reasonable prices. Our ingredients are fresh and largely sourced from local suppliers. Our menu changes with the seasons and availability of quality produce.

                                                                Unfortunately not very impressed. Table booked for 12.30, no staff at all at the bar to greet us until 12.50. Beef had mounds of horrible looking fat, potatoes were not roasted, whole meal was greasy. Veg was good, but my business partner’s lamb was 50% fat leaving just a few mouthfuls of very chewy truly awful meat. On a positive note, once staff were finally available, they were attentive & polite.

                                                                Staff were friendly, pub was cosy and warm and the ambience was lovely. Sadly the food was a little disappointing. Three of us had steak which was tough and we could hardly eat it. We did tell the server who told the chef and we did get a small discount off the bill. Some of the starters were a little small and bland in taste. So overall it was a lovely place to eat just a little disappointed in the food. We love The Chalet so we’ll be back there next time for super pizzas!

                                                                We had a lovely Sunday lunch. The food was cooked to perfection and the serving staff were excellent. Although busy, we were served very quickly.

                                                                We had a lovely lunch today… impeccable service & the food was very well presented & tasted excellent. 2 course lunch… £21.50 Well worth it ! Wish we lived nearer but have occasional visits to the arboretum so stopping off for a meal here is a must!

                                                                Really enjoyed lunch. Great food and helpful efficient service. Just wish they had a selection of lagers. Craft lager is for the sink

                                                                The ambience and the food is fantastic , exactly what we’re were hoping for on a Sunday afternoon. The food was all delicious, and the service was good although we had to wait / visit the bar for a drink on occasion ( but they were busy)

                                                                1st time we've eaten here, have come in for drinks on a couple of occasions. Really pleased, a nice menu, well cooked, ALL staff were lovely, but also do leave you alone to eat after checking you're ok. Nice atmosphere, nicely decorated, warm and cosy, the landlord lit the log burner as well which was welcome. We will definitely eat here again, and would like to come back on a summers evening when the pizza over is going. Really happy, thank you

                                                                Food is always delicious. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Food is served in a timely manner. Lovely country pub vibe, especially when the fire’s on.
