Great pub, good food, reasonably priced and lovely atmosphere. We booked on a quiz night, so it was quite lively.

The roast was excellent (especially the lamb) and we'll definitely come back. It would be nice to have a kids version on offer but we were able to cobble together alternatives! Also it was a little worrying that they ad no idea that we were coming at 12 (opening time) despite the open table booking but they were able to accommodate our table of 6 with minimal fuss. Great service, food and surroundings.

A bit noisy with either tv watchers (bar area/seating area) or loud music (lower level) but overall a nice evening. Very nice waitress who was super busy yet still smiling and helpful.

Lovely Sunday Roast, tasty and obviously home made. They were short staffed which meant a bit of a delay with the service but it was worth it.

even though advertised a special menu for wednesday .. there was no menu, no food and no chef .. so i think the barman sliver ready made pizzas from the co-op in the oven for 15 quid each

Hi Richard, thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you had such a bad time. You are right, we do our Supper deal on Wednesdays, unfortunately, on the day you visited, our regular chef was unable to come in. Though there was a chef in the kitchen. We arranged a freelance chef who I trained to make our fresh hand stretched pizzas. Unfortunately it was not possible to train him on the full menu and we were not able to offer the supper club menu that day. I'm sorry that my personal apology, offer of discount on the Pizzas and a round of drinks on the house did not go any way towards making up for the inconvenience. I hope that you will give us another chance to try and make it up to you, and perhaps consider updating your review. Many thanks, Franky

Hidden gem - pizzas and burger are fantastic. Staff are warm and welcoming and great selection of beers and cider

Great pizzas but we were next to a very noisy table and found it difficult to speak over the noise. We had booked online through Open Table and specifically asked for a table away from the bar area because of the noise. This message didn’t get through to the staff so by the time we arrived the only table available - reserved for us - was in the noisiest part of the pub. I don’t blame the staff for this at all though. Booking system at fault. Otherwise very enjoyable evening.

First time at The Claremont, party of 6, and all the food was excellent. It tasted like everything was freshly prepared for us, even the deserts. Nice staff too and we had a lovely view of the moon coming up over the fields. 10 out of 10.

Good food but when we went to order dessert we were told our choice (sticky toffee pudding) was not available and as the kitchen was closing in one minute there was no time to order an alternative. Surely if the kitchen was closing soon someone should have come to ask if were wanting desserts!
