During our stay, we enjoyed 2 breakfasts and one dinner at the Cove. Everything we had was prepared perfectly especially the steaks were delicious. Service could not have been any better. The morning server who also worked the bar was very accommodating in getting Earl Gray to take to the room.

Saturday brunch with friends post-Valentine’s Day. Wonderful view of Canandaigua lake and people ice fishing. Food is mediocre and so is the service in the restaurant. You have to ask for everything…and I mean everything: cream for your coffee…..butter and jam for toast that comes out on your entree plate. Then you have to wait until your food/drink is cold for it to arrive. The management of this place is subpar.

My husband and I had our Valentines Day dinner at The Cove and Bar at the Hotel Canandaigua. Our first course could have been better but fir a first timr trying it wasnt bad. I got a Brussel Salad the the Entrees they were good I got Duck and it had carrots and creamy polenta and James had a Filet with potatoes and Brocolini I tried it and I was good. Our dessert was Creme Brulee with fruit and shortbread cookie crumbs. It was something different to try and I think it was good

To kick off the New Year in style, our party of five had the privilege of dining at The Cove Restaurant at Canandaigua Lake Hotel, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. For two of our guests, it was their first time dining here, and they left thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, the welcoming staff set the tone for what would be a memorable meal. Service: The service was impeccable--attentive yet unobtrusive. The Food and Beverage Manager, Melina and the gentleman bartender, Ian on duty went above and beyond to accommodate every one of our requests, ensuring that each guest felt valued and cared for. Accommodation: The restaurant's layout was thoughtfully designed, offering a comfortable and inviting setting even amidst the bustling energy of New Year's Day. Despite the busy holiday atmosphere, and overabundant of loud chatter from a rather large engagement party, our group had plenty of space out of the mainstream to enjoy our meal and conversation in a relaxed and slightly serene environment. Food Quality: Although the menu primarily featured only breakfast items due to the occasion, the chef displayed remarkable flexibility by customizing a grilled shrimp on greens salad entrée for one of our senior guests. This thoughtful touch was greatly appreciated, and he thoroughly enjoyed the dish. Every other dish, from the perfectly prepared eggs benedict to various egg, breakfast potatoes and thick smoked bacon dishes were equally outstanding, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients and attention to detail. Ambiance: The Cove truly captures the essence of Canandaigua Lake. With stunning views of the lake, warm lighting, and tasteful decor, the ambiance struck the perfect balance between upscale elegance and cozy charm. Decorated nicely and festive for holidays. Final Thoughts: Dining at The Cove was an extraordinary way to start the New Year. The restaurant delivered on all fronts thanks to its professional management.

We ate at The Cove on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day brunch. We were seated almost immediately when we walked in by a very gracious hostess. For the Christmas Eve dinner my partner had the Delicata Squash ($24) and I had the Pappardelle Pasta w/braised pork belly ($27). The squash presentation was delightful and my partner raved about this very filling vegan dish. I though the pasta dish was outstanding as the sauce was both delicate and rich and the giant noodles were just right, although the pork was on the sparse side being buried in the sauce and pasta. All in all, both dishes were very filling, and delicious. The wine was a bit over priced. We took a late brunch time (1:00 pm) on Christmas day after most of the crowd had come and gone according to the host. However, several other parties arrived shortly after we were seated. It was not as noisy as it was the night before. Our server was very pleasant and gave us time to gab with our guest before ordering. My partner had the Quiche dish, I had the duck special, and our guest had the Belgium waffles w/fried chicken. My partner raved about the quiche and even said the crust was the best she ever had. The duck was smothered in a delicious reduced gravy over a large serving of fries. The duck was sparse but tasty. My friend was amused when her waffles and fried chicken arrived piled like a miniature skyscraper. She found the waffles to be both soft and crisp with a delicate taste. The chicken was done just right. There was so much that she took over half home. We all thought the food was excellent, albeit not inexpensive, and the service and atmosphere was excellent.

Second time we had lunch here and experience was not as good as first time. My food just ok (sandwich bread so dry it crumbled) and service was slow.
