Housed in the restored 19th century Victoria Quarter, The Cut & Craft Leeds is a beautiful restaurant with historic features and a show-stopping central cocktail bar.

Open every day serving lunch and dinner, with brunch and roasts on the weekend, you can expect elegant interiors in a building rich with character and a lively, vibrant atmosphere.

Named 'Restaurant of the Year' at the Yorkshire National Business Hero Awards in 2023 and 2024, The Cut & Craft combines contemporary steak and seafood dishes with a premium list of locally-crafted drinks.

We have an extensive food menu all made freshly on site including our signature flat iron steak, prepared by our very own in-house butcher.

We also regularly host brunches and special events with brands like Whispering Angel, Moët & Chandon, Charlotte Tilbury, NARS and more.

It was the first time to visit this restaurant. I have to say it was a breath of fresh air. I was visiting the area. There was nothing to fault my experience. I just wish there was this restaurant where I come from.

The price reflects the surroundings but is pretty expensive for a Sunday lunch. £55 for a 2 person sharer. The only choice for a single meal at £26 is beef. Asked how would I like it cooked I asked for medium. It was so rare it was almost blue. Others in my group asked for medium rare and it was too rare for them. If I went again I would have to ask for well done beef in order to ensure it was not running in blood. All else was good, veg particularly. However, at £26 each with a 12.5% service charge, quite frankly it is well overpriced for Sunday lunch.

Excellent service from our waitress Clarissa. Food was delicious and ambience was lovely. We had a booth which made it more private, which was nice.

This is probably our third or fourth time coming to the Cut and Craft for breakfast - previously, we have loved it and thought we had found such a hidden gem breakfast spot (hidden gem as it is not somewhere people would typically think to go for breakfast, and is always fairly quiet on a morning!). Unfortunately, our latest visit really felt short (and we’re so disappointed about it!). Service started out well, but rapidly declined as the meal went on. Three of our meals (vegan breakfasts) arrived without the vegan sausages. We notified the waitress immediately, and she went away to the kitchen but promptly returned to ask us to check our plates that the sausages weren’t hidden (this is quite hilarious as they are absolutely huge, so it kind of felt that she thought we were lying which is it a bit odd. Another food item was missing from another guests plate (beans), and we therefore had to wait for these things to arrive. Some of the food was cold, however we overlooked this. The food in general just didn’t seem as good as the previous times - what happened to the round hash browns that were far superior in quality? These have been replaced by the cheap supermarket ones that you find in the freezer aisle. No vegan butter was available (and no alternative was offered - it was clear that we weren’t vegan as we all ordered eggs?) so we were left with dry toast, no granary bread available so forced to have white. These are all minor things that could so easily be fixed. The price point is a bit higher than your average restaurant which is why I raise these issues. A couple of the wait staff were quite rude in the way they spoke (certainly not all of them, so this is absolutely not a sweeping statement). We also received some lovely service. Overall, it was.. fine.. but not somewhere we will rush back to anymore unfortunately.. The ambience is still beautiful and the building is stunning! Hopefully improvements are made when we return in the future.

Beautiful building, conversion to restaurant works well. Good steak menu, short but reasonable wine list. Waitress very good, efficient and friendly. Only comment: very loud club music playing at 6.30. It’s a restaurant primarily rather than a bar, perhaps tone it down a bit in volume and beat. I really don’t want to have to raise my voice to speak to staff of friends over dinner. !
