   super overpriced for what it is. the description of the food on the menu sounded amazing but both my partner and I were very underwhelmed with our dinner. I ordered the salmon and it was a very small piece with no sides so I was still hungry after. For what we were paying, I expected something a bit more substantial or at least much more flavourful. We went for a nice romantic dinner and the ambiance was not great and the decor was not very nice.

   The atmosphere and venue are great and so was the service. Unfortunatley the food was not. The duck had no seasoning, the steak had an awful sauce, the kids burgers were disgusting. It's a shame the food let it down. Otherwise it's a great place but they need to up their game especially given the pricing you expect it to be outstanding and it's below average.

   Our server was a young woman from Argentina- she bought us glasses of champagne to help celebrate our anniversary. She thought she was late with my coffee and baileys and didn’t charge me for it a very nice gesture! She was great and of course the dinner was excellent

   Wonderful Valentines Day dinner at the Den. We had been a little worried about slow service, given prior reviews, but this was not the case. We had an attentive and friendly server who gave us a great wine recommendation, and each dish of our 4 course set menu was delicious. Would highly recommend this small restaurant.

   This had all the potential to be brilliant however at each turn it slightly missed the mark. The food parings and flavours just didn’t quite connect and the service wasn’t attentive. Ended up forgetting a drink towards the end of the meal so we left without the drink. All in all for the price, not worth it.

   I love this place. Great ambiance and love the style. Most importantly the food was great. A unique menu. You could tell by how clean the plates were we enjoyed the entire meal and all that was left we could only consume by licking. But service was shockingly bad. No excuse as there were only 3 tables and were staggered. The waitress never looked at us. Long periods of time and never taking a glance. Had no idea where she was. We ordered the bread at the start and 15 minutes later hadn’t arrived. I had to get up and order at the kitchen counter. No monitoring of drinks. Sour face. Had to find her to take an order. It seems she was Disappointed anyone was in the restaurant which meant she actually had to work. I am assuming the staff situation in so bad it’s tough to hire good wait staff…as well as hard to find people to train them. It’s disappointing because we like this Place - although it’s our first time for dinner. If the food wasn’t so good - we would have written the place off because of how rock bottom bad the service was. Whoever is cooking the food and managing the kitchen deserves all the credit for recovery! We will be back because of ambience and food …. But if service doesn’t improve…

   We were early for our reservation, but we’re seated immediately. Our waiter and other staff were friendly, courteous and attentive. All of the food we ordered was delicious. My husband and I shared the Village Farm tomatoes for an appetizer which were cooked cherry tomatoes on focaccia bread with whipped ricotta cheese and basil. The portion was large and easily shareable. For entrees my husband had the salmon while I had the duck. We split orders of fingerling potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. There was more than enough for the two of us. We have eaten at The Den in the summer months enjoying the outdoor patio and its views of the lake. With this visit we were inside since it was winter. We hope to visit The Den again in the future.

    So far a secret in whistler that won’t remain a secret for long. Providing they keep to their standards it will be a great addition to the whistler dinning scene . Very enjoyable.
