The Derby is more than a restaurant. Established in 1922, it has been family owned and operated since 1951. It is a grand museum showcasing some of horse racing’s greatest moments. Diners are invited to take a break from the rush of modern life and travel back to the time of George Woolf, Seabiscuit, and relive the excitement of “The Race of the Century”. We excel in offering the best meat and fresh seafood hand selected by our longtime executive chef that would delight even the most discriminating of taste. Some of the menu highlights include the Bacon Wrapped Filet, Delmonico New York, Prime Rib and Shrimp Scampi. We offer a wide selection of wines by the bottle and by the glass. Relax and enjoy a delicious meal in one of our iconic red leather booths, take in a beautiful evening on our terrace, or watch a sporting event in our bar and lounge.     We had a reservation and were seated right away, but ended up waiting an hour for our food. The space was cute and comfortable, and our server was friendly. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t quite worth the wait. It was good, and the prices were fair, but nothing stood out as exceptional.

    We truly have enjoyed going to the Derby. My Wife loved the Onion Soup. Last night many things changed. The wine list has been whittled down. The Onion Soup while good, is no longer bold and out standing. The front of the house service is still top notch, my guess is their best Chef’s have moved on due to stability. Their regular food was good. It used to be great every time. May they got a bad batch of scallops but they were tiny compared to before. The Sea bass was “fishier” compared to many times before. We realize the end is near. Maybe too near!
