The Drexel is a sophisticated yet quaint, modern Mediterranean restaurant in Miami Beach. Named after the iconic street and built on the corner of a historical 1920’s village, The Drexel will transport you to the bygone era of Miami Beach.

Chef Nano Crespo brings his signature rustic, straight forward cooking style to The Drexel. Offering clean flavors from the charcoal grill and wood oven, the menu includes house made pasta and pizza with a heavy emphasis on locally sourced seafood and an entire section dedicated to vegetable dishes. The Drexel also features a uniquely curated wine list with boutique wines from Greece, France, Spain, and Italy. The cocktail list will thrill lovers of libations with favorites like The Drexel Margarita, made with mezcal, in-house organic infused agave with fresh citrus, and a toasted coconut salt rim that lets your mind drift off to a beachfront moment.

Nice place but $28 martinis, whew. And while their menus have “pizzas and pastas” there is only one on menu and one off menu option.

Drexel is one of Miami Beach’s best restaurants. It’s our favorite places to entertain friends and family.

This restaurant is one of my favorites in Miami. It’s on a great street for people watching but still a quiet vibe at the restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is great!

Overpriced and lacks sides. Portions are big, but without a side you barely want to finish the dishes. $49 for Lamb Chops with minimal sides. $30 for sizable chicken dish, but no side (maybe potatoes you should add) was exhausting to finish. It was too much of the same thing.

Unfortunately the start of our visit to The Drexel was below expectations. It was a Saturday night but any restaurant should know how to be able to seat people with reservations in good time. There were so many people waiting for 30-45 minutes or more for their reserved table that the outside of the restaurant was chaotic. We got shown inside near the very noisy bar 35 mins after our reserved time. Once seated the service picked up and the food was excellent. In fact the pizza was as good as any I have ever eaten. It was just unfortunate about the wait time. We know Miami Beach and this is just not good enough. We got one free top up of sparkling wine as a comp, but I always prefer to pay for good service and food. For the food and service (once we got seated), we'd try again next time we are here.

OK, let me start up by saying the food at the restaurant was solid… Unfortunately, everyone’s reservations were running at least 30 minutes behind… In fact, I had bumped into a very large party and they have been waiting for over 50 minutes and then decided to leave the restaurant. I felt the wait staff were in the weeds all night. As a quick, our server was lovely. My daughter ordered the flat iron chicken entrée, which was good, but it came with no sides, which was really strange. We ordered a side of brussels sprouts which came in at $21 - which is absolutely insane. Probably would’ve given this four stars, but given the long wait times for for everything, and the brussels sprouts that required me to take out a second mortgage. I only gave three stars .

The food was solid and my server was a gentleman but I was shocked by the lack of professionalism by the hostesses at the front. I've never experienced this before, and am a Miami Beach local... I had made a reservation and showed up 5 mins early, just to be told they were at capacity and tables would open up in 20 minutes. 20 minutes later, I patiently waited in the queue again to ask how many groups were still ahead of me (despite reserving...). A hostess started checking for me, then stopped mid-sentence, and started helping multiple groups who randomly approached the host stand, and who had not been waiting in the queue behind me. I assumed maybe they had been waiting longer than me, but then spotted a few who definitely showed up after me the first time. A second hostess appeared, asking me all the same info (3rd time now) - she said they only had indoor seating. At this point, I had been waiting 30 minutes, so I asked how much longer to sit outside. She suddenly goes "oh never mind, we have a table outside" - we proceed to an area with several outdoor tables available. This is an unacceptable way to liaise with patrons, especially who have made a reservation.
