The Drumming Snipe is a contemporary Pub nestled in the village of Mayford, between Woking and Guildford. Offering a warm and relaxing atmosphere for you to enjoy the perfect mid week meal, a delicious Sunday roast or a Friday night catch up with a great selection of cask ales, wines and cocktails to choose from.
Guests are invited to dine in our quirky horse trailers, covered and heated terrace or feast in our exquisite dining room but most of all – to enjoy our great quality menu, simply prepared.

    We have visited this restaurant before and the food has always been good with an interesting menu to choose from. However, the service has been slow in the past but it’s a convenient location for us and we wanted to give it another try. This time the service was particularly slow and we waited far too long between courses which was embarrassing as we took guests, and it even took time for the bill to arrive when requested. The food itself deserves 4 or even 5 stars but not until the service improves.

    Wonderful Sunday lunch here yesterday. Warm welcome, fantastic food, super service (thank you James). Loved how the sides, gravy and sauces were served. Well done everyone!

    A lovely, cosy pub with a great atmosphere—rugby on the screens (which we liked) and a welcoming side room for dogs. The menu had a good selection, and we opted for the roast. It was a nice touch that all the trimmings, including cauliflower cheese, were included and available for extra helpings. However, while the service were great, the quality of the food itself was underwhelming. The roast beef in particular wasn’t the best portion was quite small also quality not great, which let the meal down overall. Pleasant experience, but not enough to make me want to return.

    We were put in the pub area when there was plenty room in the restaurant area. Table very cramped. We got two starters at different times and had to ask where our soup starter was as clearly they forgot to bring it. Roast pots were not fresh but from frozen and not cooked properly. We asked for more gravy as the amount we were given was not enough for one person let alone 4. We had to ask 3 times for this in the meantime our food was getting cold. Poor quality overall. Once we paid and were about to go the waiter came with a bowl of soup! Wrong table obviously. Will not be returning I’m sorry to say.

    Super friendly and lovely staff. Suitably attentive but not hovering and not having to wait an unnecessarily long time for service. Food was excellent. Well presented and flavours divine. Food served hot. Portions smaller than we would like - we as a family have large appetites and appreciate good quality food. Roxy was our server - lovely young lady with. Good sense of humour.
