This was our first visit. The menu was fresh and interesting. We chose the arancini which were delicious and enjoyed a very tasty venison croquette, followed by delicious pheasant breast for the main course. My husband had the cheese board and I enjoyed the chocolate fondant for dessert. The ambiance was lively, the music at a good level- not too loud. For a Thursday evening, it was busy, but the waiting staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We will definitely return.

Lovely to see The Duck open again, redecorated, refreshed and looking good. The staff were super friendly, kind and professional and looked after us very well, however, service was rushed. We had 3 courses and nibbles to start with but the whole meal was over and done in 70 minutes. The food was good, not great, and certainly no competition for The Pig or the Bridge Arms, but good enough to consider coming back and giving it another try in a couple of months, once everything has settled. Good to see local produce from local producers and suppliers on the menu.

Top marks to the chef (you should hold onto him/her!!). Really excellent roast. Starters looked innovative and delicious but we can’t manage starters with a roast. Another time. Cleaned our plates though and shared a tarte tatin special which was superb. Thin pastry and sticky caramelised pears with ice cream. Lovely wine choices by the glass. Out in the country lanes so a challenging drive in torrential wind and rain but worth it! Service was good as all staff helpful, cheery and polite.

Really enjoyed our meal at The Duck, the food was excellent, as was the service by Tallulah. Lovely place for a meal in the countryside.

First time my wife & I have been since the new owners opened and we were very pleased with the quality of the food & service, the staff we very attentive and made it a very pleasant experience, although quiet as it was a Thursday evening the open fires created a nice ambience. We'll definately be going back.

first visit under new ownership. Food was excellent not the largest portion but extremely well presented and flavoursome ( can’t praise it enough) Restaurant area is relatively small ( not a problem) and a limited lunchtime menu , the noise level when the place is full can be loud so conversation with fellow diners difficult at times. Would i go again …. hell yeh!

On the plus side, the food was very good and fairly priced. Bit disappointed that the Truffle Mash didn’t have the slightest hint of truffle, not even a little, and my gourmet burger came with very ordinary frozen fries when it would be fair to expect some nice hand cut triple cooked chips maybe? The pub is pretty but our (tiny) table was in the bar area and there was no atmosphere…it may have been better in the dining room but we felt a bit like we were sitting in a drafty corridor. The worst part though was the service…the barman was great but the waitresses couldn’t have been less interested. We ended up going to the bar ourselves to order a bottle of wine and some water and when the waitress asked, at the end of the meal, if everything had been ok, she actually turned and walked off before we’d even answered. When we pointed out that she’d left the wine off of the bill there was no apology or thanks from her…I felt like I should apologise to her for the inconvenience! Anyway, in a nutshell…food good but sort out the service if you want repeat business from anyone other than locals :(

First time we have visited under the new ownership and we were very pleased with our meal. A fire was alight when we arrived and we felt welcome. I had cod for my main course and my wife had the venison. Both were lovely dishes cooked perfectly and were delicious.
