   Fabulous to have The Duck back again. Lovingly restored and with a warm and welcoming ambiance, especially in the rooms with an open fire at this time of year. The staff are friendly, helpful and able to advise on all the options. The food is beautifully prepared and presented with tasty, quality ingredients. We tried the Cod, Pork, Steak and Venison and all were delicious. A constructive suggestion would be for slightly larger portion sizes and inclusive of side dishes please, as this would provide better value in what is a very competitive local market. In summary, an enjoyable and quality lunch - welcome back to The Duck!

   Excellent food and service, highly recommend. However a service charge discrepancy between menu- which stated 10% would be levied on tables if 6 or more (we were a table of 6)- and bill which stated 12.5%, caused some confusion. This was quickly resolved by staff, but service charges on menu and bill need to be updated to agree the same rate. This issue did not spoil the evening which was great. For fans of Jeremy Clarkson they serve his ale and cider, but there are plenty of alternatives for those who feel the opposite…Their Argentinian Merlot at the lower cost end of their wine list is superb. Food, ambience and service was spot on. We would certainly go again.

   The welcome was genuine as we were shown to our table. Our drinks order was quick and the food was was . . . Simply delicious - I can recommend the Sunday roast without hesitation. The Duck team work incredibly hard to create a really great atmosphere, together with an open fire, what more can you ask for. Thank you for a great dining experience.

   Lovely Sunday lunch for first visit back after the reopening. Only slight disappointment was the portion size of the meat, only a slice and a half of lamb.

   Amazing family lunch for my Mum's birthday. Our 2nd visit to the Duck and it didn't disappoint. A gorgeous countryside setting, delicious food cooked to perfection, divine menu and attentive friendly staff. See you again soon!

   First the good points. The scallops starter was excellent and the chicken main good, although too salty for my taste. The glass of Pinot Grigio was very good for a house wine. The negatives. Service was poor. No greeting until the log fire had been tended. One of the two starters was forgotten, as was the wine, and staff had to be reminded (as a result, the positive was that one starter was not charged). The restaurant was busy and the noise level was high. I found the surroundings rather lacking in character, the association with Ian Fleming and James Bond virtually non-existent, overall rather a soulless experience. In summary, good food, shame about the service.

    Pub had a cozy feeling as soon as we walked in. Service is good as we were shown to our seat next to the open fire, which was great. Service was attentive and friendly. The food was lovely. Each course arrived intermittently over the evening and was excellent, albeit a little small. We were feeling a little hungry by the time we got to the 'main' as the portions were small and the courses split over the 2 hours. We ordered the cheese board after the 6 courses (as an extra) just to fill a gap, which was a little disappointing at £14. 8 crackers and three small pieces of cheese. The couple behind us did the same, which we overheard and ordered too. Meal was very light on carbohydrates, hence the feeling of hunger, i think. But the quality was great. We were thinking of returning some day soon for the Sunday Roasts, but undecided thinking " is the cost high and portions small?"
