   Food over priced. Steak over cooked, served with lettuce leaves and a portion of chips. Duck 'Shepherds pie ' although a large amount of Duck was covered with mashed potato and an overwhelming amount of cheese served with a portion of peas in a 'broth '. I felt sorry for the servers having to negotiate an extremely busy bar.

   We chose this for our pre -theatre lunch . I had roasted squash and lentil soup and my friend had fish and chips . Both delicious ,well -presented and arrived quickly

   Great service and good surroundings. Not a big choice on the menu, but food was done lovely. My husband had the Duck Shepherds Pie., and I had the Chicken Escalope. It was all beautifully cooked although a little expensive for the amount. We would return again in the future. The young servers were very pleasant and helpful.

   The food was really good and was reasonably fast at coming out after ordering, i think they might have been slightly understaffed as took a while to catch someones eye for the bill, but overall another great experience here, second time and still great food and good service

   Waitress was very pleasant and efficient but delivery of food was rather slow. We had flatbreads which were delicious and the fries were great. An interesting space

   Food menu now very limited, food we had was OK but nothing special. The service however was excellent with very friendly and efficient staff. Convenient for attending a a show at the Empire or the Fire Station but with the increasing number of good restaurants nearby the Engine Room will have to improve its offerings for us to return to eat there.

   There was no roast potatoes and only one portion of the turkey special which we both wanted. My mother in laws roast chicken was crispy on the outside of the breast which she didn’t like. We were rushing off to the theatre and were disappointed. There was not enough light in the area we were in, I had to use my phone to read the menu. We didn’t choose a dessert due to our experience. The waitress was very apologetic about it all and gave us a discount

    Surprised there was no Mashed potato on the Sunday Lunch. It was nice though. The dessert (Sticky toffee pudding with custard) was to die for. 4 dinners 4 desserts with 5 diet cokes and a shandy came to £120. I really thought this was a bit expensive.
