Under the culinary guidance of our talented Executive Chef, Ben Kelliher, the menu unfolds with signature British classics, including expertly grilled steaks perfected in our charcoal-fired Josper Grill and seasonal plant-based delights.

The glass wall overlooking the pass allows guests to witness the culinary artistry, while a skilled waiting team presents selected menu items with a theatrical tableside flourish, adding an element of drama to your dining experience. Our menu is accompanied by an extensive wine list, including a fine selection from Bouchard Finlayson, our vineyard in South Africa, alongside a beautiful Champagne trolley.

Join the team for a one-hour cooking class. Learn and experience how to make the perfect Beef Wellington. During the experience, you'll enjoy a glass of Champagne and canapés. The experience includes a three-course dinner consisting of our famous London Burrata as a starter, the Beef Wellington as the main course and our founder and president, Mrs Bea Tollman’s famous Baked Vanilla Cheesecake as dessert. This class runs at 5 pm Tuesday to Saturday, subject to availability Please note this is not a confirmed booking. The food is good and portion sizes are generous. Perhaps too generous! The restaurant is off the hotel bar and on the night we were eating the singer in the bar clashed horribly with the piped restaurant music. Made for quite an uncomfortable ambience.

We went to the English Grill before the show. It was an oasis from the rain and crowds of London. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious and special. It is very expensive but we were celebrating our anniversary and it was worth it!

Open table gave us a 9:30pm slot available for my family group of 6 to dine at The English Grill. We arrived 9:35 as the restaurant is inside a hotel and the name is not advertised outside, so it tool us some minutes to figure out where is was. When arrived and asked for our reservation, the host's first comment was "Ughh, it is going to be tight" followed by the restaurant manager on duty who advised, we will accommodate you but the kitchen closes 9:45 pm- so you will need to hurry. We were rushed to order, not only mains but we had to order deserts as well.... For a considerably expensive restaurant , the food was good, but when we finished dinner, we were rudely rushed out of the place as it was closing... when complained, the manager simply said, "We told you, and you decided to stay" Why would the place take 9:30 reservations if the kitchen closes 9:45? For what was supposed to be a pleasant family dinner, ended up in a terrible experience.

Excellent service and attention to detail. Delicious pre-theatre menu, and they were very cognizant of getting through our courses on time to depart for the show. Highly recommended, especially if you are attending the Other Palace theater minutes away.

I was exposed to COVID-19 the day before my brunch was scheduled with the English Grill. I called to tell the restaurant of this and cancel my reservation. They informed me that they had to charge me their cancellation fee anyway. I explained that I understood policies, but if she could make an exception this time because I didnt want to expose other guests at the restaurant or their staff to the virus. She wouldnt budge and I was charged $65. In a world where we are all trying to stay healthy, this rubbed me the wrong way.
