   We recently dined at The Federal Grill - Katy and had a fantastic experience. We started with the Cheeseburger Egg Rolls and Bang Bang Shrimp appetizers—both were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Before our entrées arrived, we were served their delicious bread with their unique take on orange marmalade, which was a delightful surprise—sweet, tangy, and the perfect complement to the warm, fresh bread. For our main courses, we had the Blackened Chicken Pasta and Chicken Fried Chicken, both of which were excellent. The seasoning on the pasta was spot on, and the crispy breading on the chicken was perfect. The service was attentive and friendly, making our dinner even more enjoyable. From start to finish, everything was top-notch, and we’ll definitely be back for another great meal!

   We went for Valentine's Day. Federal had a set menu to choose from. Normally, we've enjoyed our visits to Federal. This time (and we think it's likely because of how they prepared for the holiday) it was not so great. We started with the tomato soup. It was lukewarm. It had grilled cheese croutons but these were not great. Cool idea, just not well executed this time. We ordered the filet, which came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The filet was cooked as we requested and was fine. However, the mashed potatoes were bland and the vegetables had no flavor and seemed like someone tried, but failed, to cook them al dente. For dessert, we had the butter cake, which is usually soooo tasty. This time, it was hard, like a cheap muffin. We think the moral of this story is that you should avoid places like this on days like Valentine's but check them out on a Monday or Tuesday when they're not likely to be rushing to push out a bunch of dishes. Like I said, Federal is usually fine, but the food unfortunately let us down this past visit.

   Crab cake was cold in the middle. The fish crust was soggy. TV’s dont make for a romantic evening. Really loud.

   Excellent Valentines experience. Waitstaff was on point and made the entire evening a pleasure. We will be back for other events and basic dining.

   Our visit was for the annual Valentine’s Day experience with prixe fixe menu. All three courses were excellent and service was superb. Very nice Valentine’s experience. It is hard to go wrong with Federal American Grill for special experiences or regular dining.

   We love this place. Everyone from the GM to the bartender Thomas have always been our favorites. Food is excellent drink drinks everything about it.
