Situated in the Red Rocks country 17 miles southwest of Denver on Hwy 285, The Fort is a true replica of Bent's Fort, (1833-1849), the first American fur trade post in Colorado. The Cheyenne, Arapahoe, Kiowa and Pawnee traded and intermarried at Bent's Old Fort, creating an economic and peaceful exchange of cultures in an otherwise violent West. The Fort building is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and celebrates the many cultures that traded at Bent's Old Fort. Our menu features "New Foods of the Old West" including the best cuts of buffalo, elk and quail, grilled to perfection. There are vegetarian options inspired by American Indian recipes including Corn Beans and Squash, known as the Three Sacred Sisters. The wine list is awarded the Wine Spectator each year, and the nine dining rooms, with intimate seating, has a 350 seat capacity, with real adobe "beehive "fireplaces that burn wood in the winter and fall months. Romantic. Amazing views of the Valley and Mountains!

Food was decent for the cost. You’re definitely paying for the name. We did come here for the uniqueness and the experience. You can’t find anything else in Colorado that serves this type of food. Service was lacking effort and when asked for recommendations she said everything‘s great with little to know enthusiasm which made me think she’s probably never tried anything here and should’ve just said that. Bathrooms were dirty and odd that they had a huge bottle of lotion next to the sink.. After confronting my waitress with the 3% staff bonus fee. She let me know that it has nothing to do with her tips. It was only for the kitchen. I hate it when there’s little add-ons like this. Just put it in the cost of your menu. I don’t need to be nickel and dime at the end of the day. It was an expensive dinner for people $500. I definitely won’t be coming back.

This was my first time going to The Fort and we’re already planning our next trip. The food was great and there was plenty of it! I was blown away by the service!? The food was timed perfectly considering apps, salads, main course and our drinks stayed full. We weren’t left for wanting anything. If you enjoy wonderful and high end cuisine, this place is for you.

I have eaten at the fort several times over the years. On the my recent visit, I felt the food and the service had slipped from past visits. I also found the dining room to be rather loud but it's my issue since I did not know the impact of the holiday reverie.

We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary at The Fort on 12/12/24. We had an amazing waitperson: Marissa; great table next to a fireplace; and the food was delicious, including the creme brulee which was on the house. The Fort rarely disappoints.

Old style restaurant with good food and great service. We had the buffalo prime rib and it was very tender and flavorful.

Was not impressed. Head waiter was gumpy. Her assistant was very good. Food was over cooked. Steal was to be med rare came medium well done. Mashed potatoes were crusty on top showing that they probably sat under a heatlamp too long. Deserts were not good. Three of us got the Creme Brule and none of us could finish it. Overall the place is overpriced and food is marginal.
