Shannon and her team are ready and raring to welcome you to The Fountain House, a beautiful pub and restaurant overlooking Manchester Town Hall and Albert Square. Whether you’re hoping to enjoy cocktails with a leisurely lunch on our outdoor terrace, you’d like a quick bite with your pint in the bar (pooches welcome!) or you’re looking for a vibrant spot for dinner with friends, come on in, relax and enjoy! We change our menus seasonally and pride ourselves on our delicious and innovative dishes. Don’t forget, our beautiful events space is perfect for meetings and occasions, just get in touch and we’ll do the rest.

Treat her to our gorgeous set menu this Mother's Day, with a Lillet Rose Spritz on us. Our special set menu consists of 3 delicious courses for £37, and includes our revamped Sunday roasts. The Mother’s Day menu can be found on our website.

Our delicious à la carte menu is available Tuesday to Saturday from open until the end of service (9PM). Our lunch menu is available each day until 5PM. A discretionary 12.5% service charge will be added to your bill. All service charges, cash and credit/debit card tips are paid in full to our team members

Good food and value. Our potatoes and veggies were bit cool but our waiter soon rectified that. We were left some time and had to call waiter for puds/coffee and they didn’t have decaf except instant. Very pleasant though.

Hi Ruth, Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. We have passed on the comments regarding your food to the kitchen for them to look into and improve. As for needing to call the waiter for service, we have reminded the team that they should be attentive with guests and forthcoming in making sure their needs are catered for. As for the decaf coffee, as it's not a common drink for us and we only have one bean grinder, we are unfortunately left with just serving instant decaf. This has been passed on however to see if we can look into having some decaf beans and an additional grinder. Hopefully we can win ourselves that final star on your next visit! The service was superb, great chat with the young man, can't remember his name but great guy. The roast lamb was lovely, the only slight complaint was the lighting was low and hard to read the menu and the music was slightly loud but don't let that put you off as its a wonderful place with great food.

In terms of lighting, we have dimmable lights which can unfortunately get quite dark; apologies for this, we are looking into adjusting this, in the meantime we have bright LED lamps guests are free to use upon their request. In terms of the music, it's very quiet from the bar, meaning we don't always realise how loud it is for guests, but we're more than happy to turn it down if it gets too loud. Lovely Sunday roast. Little on the expensive side. Room was very warm. Lovely staff great service.

Food was nice, I had the Chicken Kiev but I didn't taste much garlic which Kiev is meant to have and the creamy leeks were lost underneath the Kiev. My partner had the burger which she said was OK. We asked for a bottle of water with our meal, which was finally brought once we reminded the waitress. No one came if we needed anything else or if our meal was nice despite it not being very busy. Don't think we will be going back.

Hi John, Firstly, let us apologise for not meeting your expectations yesterday. For the Chicken Kyiv, unfortunately our recipes are given to us from head office and have to be followed closely. We have passed on your feedback to the relevant team and hope to improve the product for the upcoming menu launch. As for the lack of service you feel you have experienced, the members of staff responsible for your service have been reminded of the level of service we provide, and where we felt short of based on your dining experience. Excellent food (fish and chips with the fabulous curry sauce, and rhubarb and custard knockerbocker glory) and really excellent and friendly service. Was quite quiet when we arrived on Friday lunchtime but did fill up a little later - it deserves to be full

Food was outstanding and came timely manner. We had a starter so we just couldn't find more space to eat a desert.

Went for an early dinner. Super welcoming staff (thank you Alex C) and really tasty food. We were invited to try a new cocktail made by Sharmane and it was delicious as anything ... ! We left just a live band was starting around 6:30 as we had a show to go to, but we would definitely have stayed for the evening if not.
