The Friendly Society is Elora's best-loved neighborhood restaurant. The decor is romantic yet rustic, the vibe is hip and comfortable, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. It is located on the river, steps from the Elora Mill, with a licensed patio and live music in the summer.

    The food was delicious and the portion sizes were good. We went in December and the Christmas ambience was incredible. If you are looking for a relaxing meal, this is not the place (it was a Tuesday and it was very loud). Also, the reservation was made for a birthday but the server still had to be told.

    We were a party of 4 there celebrating a friend birthday. Two of us had lamb burger, one had the steak and these were amazing despite the accompanying house salad being a little underwhelming. The fourth guest was celiac and allergic to chia seeds and unfortunately the menu left her with limited options. She ordered a bowl that substituted couscous with rice but she thought it was soggy but underwhelming as well. The staff offered the birthday girl complimentary chocolate cake which was also good. She thought the holiday sangria tasted funny. However the staff was great, the restaurant had great atmosphere and we had a great time and would do it again.

    Had a great lunch date. Got the cranberry festive drink. It was so pretty and delicious. Wings are huge and crunchy, perfect amount of sauce. Burger was amazing, freshly made, smash burger style. If you make a reservation, specify it’s for a date, they seat you in a really cute spot.

    We had a beyond incredible dinner and experience at The Friendly Society tonight. We shared two dishes (chicken sandwich with poutine and Mac and cheese) and the whole drive home we couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was. We couldn’t pick a favourite thing. The restaurant has such a great vibe and is beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our server was very friendly, helpful and so good at her job, which added to the whole experience. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

    Not as friendly as the name says. We were late b/c of road closures and called ahead to say we would be late. Upon arrival they were not very nice at all.
