The restaurant feels confused. The beautiful walls and bar conflict with cafeteria-like table settings. The service was fine but the time between the order and the receipt of both beverages and food was quite long. I ordered the lobster roll. It was mostly bread without much filling and the bread was either stale or the roll sat in the window too long waiting to be delivered. The roll was crumbly and cold. The fries that came with it were also cold. Bright side: cocktail was delicious. Overall, I am disappointed.

Expectation was high for lunch, as the Georgian Room from years past was always a special place. The George is not. Bread service was terrible, much like grocery store bought bread but stale. Salad Nicoise with overcooked potatoes and green beans and I’m sure canned tuna, not fancy tinned that is fashionable these days. This salad seemed to have made by someone who knew nothing about how to make it. Same with grilled cheese sandwich, minimal amount of cheese with a slab of a tasteless tomato. Seriously, basic cooking 101 “how to make a great grilled cheese” was somehow missed here. With all the hard cold surfaces the noise level is very loud, conversations were difficult. We should have read the reviews before deciding on having lunch here.

Review for The George at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel If opulence had a taste, it would be found at The George at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel. This is not just a dining experience — it is a masterpiece of sensory immersion. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped by an atmosphere of grandeur and elegance that feels both regal and intimate. The architecture alone is worthy of reverence, with soaring ceilings, intricate details, and an undeniable sense of luxury woven into every inch of the space. But the true magic lies in the dining experience itself. Every dish is a revelation. The flavors are not merely balanced — they are orchestrated. Each bite feels like a journey, with layers of taste unfolding on the palate in ways that linger long after the plate is empty. The attention to detail is astonishing — from the presentation of each dish to the thoughtful selection of ingredients that feel both classic and innovative. Even the seating feels intentional. Plush, inviting, and perfectly arranged to create a sense of intimacy while still allowing you to drink in the beauty of the surroundings. It’s clear that nothing at The George is accidental. Everything serves the experience. This was more than a date night — it was an encounter with beauty, artistry, and indulgence in its highest form. Five stars do not feel like enough. If you’re looking for a space where luxury meets warmth, and refinement meets wonder, The George is not to be missed.

Not a very intimate place to eat on a date at all. Very open, somewhat cold, almost like a cafe. Seats aren't comfortable. The portions were exceptionally skimpy for the prices. Overall not a great experience.

Not the same experience from the days of the Georgian Room. On time for reservation but weren’t seated till 10 minutes later. Over an hour to receive our main dish. Had to wave a server down to go check the status. We had an 8 year old with us who was very hungry! Noise level more like a diner than an expensive restaurant.

We went to The George for my daughter's birthday. The service and food were exceptional! They remembered that I said it was her birthday and brought her an amazing dessert at the end of our meal. The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was elegantly platted. It was a bit noisy for my taste but otherwise was phenomenal.
