Located in the vibrant NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte, the Goodyear House is a casual dining experience with a charming patio and warm hospitality. Since dining there when it first opened, we have wanted to try the Goodyear. The service was exceptional—we were greeted and sat quickly after being offered in/outside. We opted for outside at a picnic table, but after a while, our backs started to ache from not having support. The cocktail menu complements the food beautifully, offering a mix of classic and innovative drinks. Built On Hospitality Old Fashioned—A sophisticated take on a timeless classic, delivering a smooth yet complex sip. It is a perfect choice for a bourbon lover like me. Boom, Roasted - was a delightful mix of smoky warmth and nutty sweetness. Apple and Spice -combined Queen Charlotte Reserve rum, apple cider, Drambuie, and fresh lemon, creating a well-balanced blend of spiced warmth and citrus brightness. Pomegranate Fizz is Light and refreshing with Its tart, citrusy profile. The menu showcases the restaurant’s ability to balance rich, comforting flavors with refined technique. Crispy Rice Balls was a delightful start. These Carolina Gold rice balls were perfectly fried to a crisp exterior while remaining creamy. The Warm Cheese is a must-try for cheese lovers. This dish featured Green Hill cheese paired with burnt honey, pecans, and pink lady apples. The Beef Tartare - The American Wagyu beef is fresh but tastes salted with a mix of aioli, cornichon, capers, and potato sticks. For dinner we had Shrimp & Grits is a take on the Southern classic, Maltagliati. This hand-torn pasta dish was a standout. They were out of Grilled NC Trout, but they substituted cod. The bavette was au Poivre steak cooked to perfection, but it was oversalted. Dessert was terrific with a brownie sundae and lemon poppy cake - delish! Overall, the food was very good - and the service was terrific - but for the value - it was overpriced.

Don’t waste your time and or money. We sat outside and that was nice. I had high hopes this place would be super romantic. It 100% was a complete disappointment. I don’t complain about places but I felt the need to complain. This was a date night for my wife and I. We like to go on dates every month. The $15 appetizer we ordered was a shrimp dish. It came out with Saltine crackers, a spread, and what looked to be a jar of shrimp. It was gross and I ate two of them. It reminded me of white pigs feet in a jar. The server didn’t speak more than 20 total words to us. She didn’t refill my water and it took me to ask to refill my coke. It sat empty and didn’t refill till we got the check. It wasn’t busy at all. There were plenty of open tables around us, but yet the server acted like she was overwhelmed but there weren’t people there so there was no reason to be overwhelmed. We wanted to get out so bad and went to Ricco’s Churro shop or something to get dessert, we had better experience there than we did here. I’d 100% never recommend this to anyone. I’m sorry I had really high hopes but it was terrible.

A great restaurant! The out door dining is special. We enjoyed our dinner and the service was good. We came for my daughter’s. They gave her a complimentary dessert with a birthday candle. Thank you for the special evening.

Went here for my wife’s birthday. Nathan served us, and he was outstanding. Food was pretty good, but to be really honest the main reason I would go back is for Nathan and his service. My wife and I both got the Goopy burgers with shaken fry bags. Food overall was pretty good, but I would say we enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere of the place more. Will be back.

The food was good but so overpriced for the small portions. We wanted the corn and the El Pastor chicken because it was on their website but when we got there they told us it was taken off the menu. Then the beer and the wine we ordered were also not in stock. It took forever to get the drinks we did end up ordering. Then they tried to bring us our salad after we ate our main course. The service and the operations need a lot of work but the food is good, just too small for the price tag.

The Goodyear House never disappoints. A very tasty and eclectic menu. Nice wine selection and excellent cocktails. Service was friendly and attentive. A nice upscale casual place.

The food was wonderful, our server was very kind however after the food, it took forever to get the cake we brought, the checks, etc. we were there for almost 3 and a half hours. The cake we brought we decorated beautifully for a birthday we were there to celebrate. The did not provide correct cake service as they pre cut the cake & brought us out slices, we never even got to see the cake. The floral that was on the cake was brought out on a plate. This is incorrect cake service. As you’d do a wine cork service, it’s to be done at the table in front of the guests. It completely defeated the purpose of the celebration and the beautifully decorated cake that was spent 6 hours making. On top of that, the check was brought out with $100 taken off the entire bill on one check all together. Although that was a great fix to the mistake the restaurant made, once the checks were split up, the $100 off was gone. Our server was not aware that when you take a % off the total bill and then proceed to split up the bill, that % off goes away. We then had to wait longer for the bills to be split & the % taken off correctly. It took a very long time, an unnecessary long time. Cherry on top, the manager never made an appearance at the table. He should have come over and introduced himself and spoke to the entire table about the mistakes that were made. Instead he flagged over one of us to speak to us in private. As a previous manager myself, the correct way to handle this would have been to come to the table himself, speak to the entire table about what happened, apologize & make it right, right then. This was an unfortunate experience as the vibe and food were amazing. We may return but we will not return to celebrate an event.

The food was wonderful, but we felt enormous pressure to get in and out FAST for table turnover. Drinks arrived, 2 sips later salad arrived. Halfway through the salad the appetizer arrived. Entree arrived before salad was finished, and halfway through the entree, the server came back, asked if we wanted anything else, then before we could answer (like, maybe another drink??) she said "how about a dessert menu?". In and out in 45 minutes?? Not what I would expect from a Top 50 restaurant.
