Really lovely experience. The atrium is decorated nicely, and the ambience, with soft piano music and quiet chatter, was great. The food was excellent, and so was the tea! Everything was yummy, and the waitstaff were very pleasant and helpful.

Reservation at 7 waited for 45 minutes never acknowledge us. Finally talked to a guy in the band and he acknowledged us standing. Sat us down and we were told they stopped serving food. Worst experience. Ruined our Valentine’s Day. And we had our 11 year old daughter who was very hungry. Weird how they charge you for the reservation if you are late but they can keep the customer waiting forever. Also went into the bar to order some drinks & it took 30 minutes. Such terrible service!

When we made reservations we asked for vegetarian and gluten free (celiac). They must have had neither. Daughter sick in bed all day from gluten.

The waitress ignored us for 40 minutes, then we tried to order entrees, and we're told we can on have appetizers, because there's "a special event" so no dinner, though we had reservations. After complaining, she continued to treat us badly and talked down to us. Other wait staff were treating their customers great and even got them entrees from the other restaurants. Terrible experience, it ruined our Valentine's dinner. Stay went downhill from there. Would not recommend.

We love doing tea at the brown palace and have been coming for afternoon tea for over 20 years. This year felt very rushed and perfunctory. The service was rushed and the portions were noticeably smaller. We kept having to ask for more water for our tea and wave service down and they appeared harried and overwhelmed. There are more tables crammed into the atrium so you can hear every word of your neighbor’s conversation. Not the same experience as before.

Appreciated the two included plates of sandwiches, as we were still hungry after one. Atmosphere was lively and fun. You could tell the restaurant was running like a well oiled machine for Valentines Day but it honestly added to the ambiance for us, as the servers were polite but not obtrusive, and didn’t try to upsell us on anything we didn’t want. Dessert plate was a little too sweet for our palates but was still enjoyable, overall experience was great. Would do again next year.

Absolutely loved this experience, the pianist played a song for our soon to be new arrival and brought me to tears. Would recommend tea time here again and again.
