The Grand Marlin Restaurant features a main dining area with a shucked to order oyster bar, exterior North Drop Bar overlooking the beautiful Santa Rosa Sound, and private meeting rooms. This Pensacola Beach restaurant, with an air of island casualness, serves the highest-quality cuisine, including the freshest local seafood featured on menus designed and printed daily to take advantage of the local bounty. The atmosphere creates a fusion of the Caribbean and the Pensacola Bay Area. Executive Chef Gregg McCarthy has a passion for great-tasting food and particularly loves working his culinary magic with fresh Gulf Coast seafood. Boaters and beach-goers feel comfortable in shorts and flip-flops at the oyster bar, in the dining room and at the North Drop Bar. The Grand Marlin has a space and atmosphere for all occasions and is looking forward to creating an authentic experience between time and tide.

Went for a date night and have never been before. Restaurant is large but considering the size it’s not overly loud. Waitress was amazing, made great suggestions. Our food was also amazing! We had the smoke fish dip, grilled salmon with sweet potato hash and the grill tuna with whipped potatoes. Both of our plates were completely empty when we were done. Prices are comparable to any higher end restaurant, especially out at the beach with seafood. Definitely recommend and will go again.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day a day late at the Grand Marlin. We started with cocktails, my wife, a dirty martini, an old fashion for me. Both were excellent. For an appetizer we shared the calamari. It was very good but I don’t care for the fried peppers and pickles that to me, just is a way to stretch the amount of calamari. For dinner my wife had the Kale Caesar salad which she enjoyed very much. I had their specialty dish Grouper Piccata with withered spinach and Risotto. It was delicious and the portion was generous. The only negative issue about the restaurant is that the noise level is very high. I wish they could do something about the acoustics because it’s difficult to hear each other across the table. Otherwise, everything is outstanding.

Before leaving, I I went up to a manager and spoke to him. I mentioned the fact that he had rounded around our table at least 10 times during our visit and he never once stopped to ask about our experience. In the 15 years, we’ve been going there this is the worst experience we’ve ever had after waiting over 40 minutes for our food. There were other things as well, but no one seemed to stop by and ask. There was one perceptive server who I asked for ketchup and then she spoke to her manager to get it. She then checked on us four times because she could tell the experience was not good. It’s sad because this has been our favorite restaurant to go to throughout the past 15 years for all of our special occasions and a great place to go out to dinner.

We love the Grouper Piccata- our favorite dish at the Grand Marlin. We go there at least twice when we visit Pensacola Beach. And we go to the beach every year- sometimes twice. We highly recommend The Grand Marlin.

I want to say after visiting the grand Marlin many many times in the past and always getting excellent service. Last nights service was the best we have ever experienced. Alicia Keys is the best server we’ve ever had at the Grand Marlin. She was informative. She was kind. She ensured that we were always taken care of in the best possible manner She deserves a ton of recognition.

The fried oysters were marginal with excessive batter. The raw oysters were undersized and with little salty taste.

The Grand Marlin Pensacola Beach is our favorite, and we take every chance we can to visit even though it is at lest a 45-minute drive for us. The last time we dined there they were out of Mahua Sauvignon Blanc, my wine of choice, the only disappointment, but this time everything was perfect.
