Limited brunch menu and the food portions are very small. The worst thing about the place is that they crank up the background music, which was Christmas tunes when we were there, so loud that you can’t carry on a normal volume conversation. I postulate that the reason behind that is that most of the clientele seem to be elderly and hard of hearing. This is a beautiful establishment that really needs to up their game, menu and broaden the target audience for their restaurant or the future won’t be very bright..

We had a reservation in the Oak Room, not the tavern. When we were seated, our table was not fully set and we had to steal bread plates and cutlery from empty tables. Seating was tight and many other guests were speaking quite loudly. Conversation was difficult. The dress code was listed on Open Table as “smart casual,” but a woman seated near us was wearing a holiday themed set of footy pajamas. There were small children in the room who screamed and cried throughout our meal. I ordered the Vegetable Trio, which was delicious. The cauliflower steak was tender but firm, the mushroom jous was rich, salty and savory, and the mashed butternut squash was sweet and creamy, with a pleasant hit of red pepper spice. My partner ordered cavatapi, which was very disappointing. The dish arrived cold sticky and was saturated with so much garlic that i could taste it in my mouth for hours after sampling a single bite. Certainly not worth $28. Overall, our experience was mixed. While my food was excellent, I think it’s reasonable to expect more consistency, attention to detail, and ambiance at a restaurant where dinner for two can easily top $100.

We didn’t see our waitress much, and the food was disappointing. My son and I had the chicken sandwich, and the chicken was so dry and hard I thought I was chewing a bone.

Food was excellent. I don’t know how they pulled it off with so many people for Thanksgiving dinner unless they had an excellent and well trained staff

We were looking forward to a great Thanksgiving dinner, but we’re extremely disappointed. This is our second year coming to the Granville Inn for Thanksgiving and last year was decent but this year really missed the mark. The turkey was dry. The mashed potatoes were not mashed the prime rib was well done and tough. The carrots were uncooked. Very disappointed will not be returning next year. Normally Granville Inn’s food is excellent.

Mason was our waiter in the Oak Room tonight and he was incredible! Walleye entree was delicious as was the burger special. Coffee drinks weren’t hot but remade to our liking. Crème Brûlée not as good as the last visit. The ambiance here is so beautiful it makes up for any shortcomings, we will continue to enjoy this beautiful landmark.
