The Green Flash is an iconic waterfront dining establishment in Captiva, Florida. Come by boat or car, sit indoors or at one of our outdoor dockside tables for lunch or dinner service. The Green Flash serves traditional American fare with a distinct European influence. The kitchen uses only fresh ingredients, including market-fresh fish in all its from scratch dishes. The full bar provides plenty of drink options and the dining rooms and patios provide beautiful views of the water while you eat. Enjoy your meal as you watch the many pleasure and fishing boats depart and return from their excursions!

The Green Flash's menu begins with a range of starters like oysters on the half shell, smoked salmon, hot flash shrimp and mussels. There are plenty of salads and soups on The Green Flash menu as well, like the grilled chicken Caesar. Larger dishes include chicken porcini and pan seared diver scallops.

Overall, a disappointing experience for a restaurant whose prices and ambience suggest an upscale establishment. The view over the bay is stunning…we caught moonrise over the water. The sourdough bread was excellent (and unfortunately the high point of the meal). Choices of wines by the glass are limited to low end options. The calamari was over salted. The sesame tuna was also over salted, thin with thick layer of sesame. The waiter was asked if it was fresh and local and did not know but later said he was sure it must be fresh— not so sure. The same for mahi in the seafood sampler. It was a bit mushy like a frozen mahi block. The barbecued shrimp in the sampler were tasty but the rest of the selections were tasteless or over breaded. The service was poor but the waiter was covering so many tables he could not be every where at once. That said we were served bread and appetizers but had no utensils or plates and had to wait as the food got cold before someone passing by could be asked for those items. We asked for water refills several times with no response (remember the over salted food- lack of water made it worse). There did not seem to be a senior manager on site to speak to. The waiter did offer to comp dessert to make up for the flaws but it was getting late and we declined.

Great ambience and service. Lovely menu. Enjoy the flavor of our dinners, but both fish dishes were a little dry, something we had not experienced in our previous visits to this restaurant.

We love the Green Flash, it’s a must do for every trip to Captiva. The food is excellent and the waitstaff is always friendly.

Our server was excellent, food delicious and ambiance perfect. Best place to eat on Captiva Island. Caribbean lobster tail a must try along with their version of key lime pie

Fabulous food and wonderful view. Service by Tiffany was great. The bacon wrapped shrimp are delicious and the chocolate cake is wonderful!!

We had a wonderful dinner at The Green Flash. We visit Captiva regularly and always plan a dinner evening here as they never disappoint. Michael and his staff go above and beyond to make sure guests have an enjoyable experience, successfully balancing fine dining, island vibes, and local cuisine. During this visit our server, Nick, was friendly, informative, and just the right level of attentive. Our appetizers, cocktails and entrees were all very enjoyable. Thank you Green Flash for another job well done!
