   Meal of the year, hands down. Started with on-point Negroni (me) + a glass of Cremant (my wife) and those seriously classy smoked cod’s roe gougéres. Starters - Carrot Vinaigrette, St Jude's Cow's Curd, Walnuts + Wild Rabbit, Partridge & Duroc Pork Terrine, Medlar Jelly, Toast - both stunning. Mains - Jacob's Ladder, Beer Onions, Black Cabbage, Polenta, Sage + Sweetbread & Bloodcake Hogget Heart Crépinette, Hispi Cabbage, Mash, Madeira Sauce. The latter undoubtedly the best offal dish I’ve ever eaten, still grinning about it now. Dessert - shared an Apple Tarte Fine, Cinnamon Cream + a coupe of amazing Negroni jellies - seriously like a Negroni Tangfastics 😊. All accompanied by a lovely bottle of Reuilly. To find food this good in the perfect country pub setting is an absolute joy. So grateful to have this place within walking distance of our front door. Thank you Greyhound

   The dining experience was good but could have been better. The menu said Mallard wild duck but I felt we were served a reared duck, by the sheer size and level of fat in the duck. Whilst I am aware that magrets should be served rosé this one was blooded. The gravy and Vegas were very nice. The gougères were delicious so was the dessert. The staff and service was excellent when you could catch the eye of a waitress., granted it was a very busy Sunday lunchtime. Nevertheless will give them another chance.
