The Hawthorn is a Georgian gem in the heart of Haworth, packed full of period features offering a relaxed environment to unwind with friends and family. This warm and appealing gastropub has been renovated throughout to showcase an array of local antiques including a stunning array of Barraclough clocks, homage to John Barraclough himself, Clockmaker to the Brontes, who used to live in this very building in the Georgian era.

We serve only food made using the freshest seasonal British produce and our menu changes through the weeks to reflect this.

We have a custom-made Josper charcoal grill which is the hottest indoor grill available and used by the best restaurants in the country. Cooking on the Josper ensures none of the natural moisture or flavour escapes from the food, whilst at the same time adding the distinct chargrilled taste.

Our first time at The Hawthorn. Was a lovely restaurant. Greeted by very helpful polite staff. Very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Efficient and professional. Pleasant and polite. I had the flat iron Steak with peppercorn sauce and crispy skin on fries. Absolutely delicious. Couldn’t find fault. Service was very prompt. The fries were the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband had the Burger with fries and he really enjoyed it too. Plenty of choices from the wine and beverage section. Prosecco was very nice as was the Ilkley beer. We didn’t have room for desert. Again nice choices from a traditional menu. Very nice indeed and we will definitely be returning.

Thank you to all the staff who made this a fantastic night for our engagement. The food and staff were superb.

Booked to celebrate mine & my daughter’s birthday, staff were lovely and made us feel special. Food was excellent, best steaks we had, so tasty and perfectly cooked. Beautiful restaurant, candles on tables and great ambience. We will be back!

The food was lovely, and the service fantastic, even the young waitress was happy to engage with my guest's humour. There was a misunderstanding on the vegetables, but it was resolved quickly and without issue. The service was attentive and natural - table water was just replaced as soon as our jug was empty. The price is right for the quality and service.

The food and service was amazing, the atmosphere was so cosy and the cocktails were insane. The staff were so welcoming and the steaks… my god 👌🏼 this was mine and my partners first time in Howarth for our anniversary and this restaurant made it one to remember

This is our second visit to The Hawthorn. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I would say this is the best Sunday Lunch I have ever eaten and I would 100% recommend. We have already booked our next visit.

This was our first time visit based on a family recommendation and we were not disappointed. A friendly welcome and a wonderful table location in this magnificent Georgian restaurant promised our experience was going to be even better than expected. The Parsnip,Pumpkin & Chili soup was creamy and tasty and prepared us for the feast that was to follow. We ordered the Ox Cheek and Lamb and it is without doubt some of the finest meat ever tasted , so tender and a very filling portion . All the accompaniments were tasty and importantly hot. So many restaurants fail in this simple task . The portions are generous and it leaves no room for dessert sadly . Maybe next time no starter !! A very minor negative was the unusual additional charge for extra gravy if required . Service throughout the meal was exemplary. The young staff are a credit to themselves and the management who have clearly invested their time in them. Very much looking forward to a return visit soon .
