   I’ve always loved this pub—great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a perfect spot in the summer to enjoy a chilled evening. The team working on the night of 28th February were particularly amazing, staying patient and professional despite absolute chaos. Unfortunately, that chaos was the reason we had to cut our night short. The pub was completely overrun by what must have been at least 20 primary school children running wild—inside, outside, everywhere. What made it worse was the total lack of care from the parents, who seemed happy to treat the place like a soft play centre while the rest of us tried (and failed) to enjoy our drinks. We had booked a table for dinner but ended up leaving before even ordering food because the atmosphere was unbearable. We weren’t the only ones—several tables moved outside into the February cold just to escape the noise. I totally understand that pubs are communal spaces, but there has to be some balance. This isn’t the kind of place you’d expect to double as a daycare. It’s a real shame because the pub itself is fantastic, and the staff handled it all like pros. But I really hope management takes a look at its policy on large groups with young kids, because if nights like this become the norm, I’m not sure I’d rush back.

   Kicked us off the table to turn it for the next booking awhile one of our group was still eating. We’d only been there 75 minutes at that point.

   Was recommended & obviously for a reason. Couldn’t speak more highly of the waiting staff who were incredible with our slightly chaotic large party. Felt very welcome, food was great & obviously very well organised as service was super speedy. Will be recommending & returning. Thanks to the wonderful staff for a fantastic experience!

   We had an impromptu date night for a Sunday roast and The Hemingway didn’t disappoint! This will be our new Sunday roast place for sure.

   It was a great experience visiting a pub in Uk for the first time. The atmosphere and service was warm and welcoming. We had scotch egg and Wellington beef which were delicious. We paid 49 pounds for the Wellington beef for 2 persons which was a great value for quality.

   Our first visit to The Hemingway and we will most definitely be coming back! The staff were very accommodating, the food was great and it was a perfect way to spend our New Year’s Eve! 🥂 Thank you so much! 😃

   This place is a neighborhood gem. Not sure how I found it in my research of places to dine. My husband and I were visiting from Seattle for the Christmas holiday. This place is in the Victoria Park neighborhood of London. It was about a 45 minute drive from our hotel but it was well worth the trip. Even though the staff were young they were very friendly and attentive. My husband and I shared the Honey & truffle baked Camembert- delicious! We also shared the Beef Wellington which was so yummy. Most places serve their Wellington with gravy but theirs came with a red wine jus which was very tasty. They had a good beer and wine selection and serve cocktails as well. If you go in the very back they even have a speakeasy- hidden area of the bar where you can smoke and play pool. It’s a little chilly out there but they did have heaters.

    The best dish was the cod. The burguers not so good and my gnocchi was not very nice. Maybe fish and meat are the way to go. Great staff
