Good was ok, drinks service was a problem, it took between 15-20 mins to get each round of drinks to the table and there was only two of us and the place wasn’t really that busy

I've dined at The High Field several times, usually for the Sunday Roast. Very disappointed by this afternoon's visit and leaving this review primarily to say they need to do better and take allergies seriously: 1. Despite us having ordered 'Apple Crumble' and the menu saying that, they served us a crumble made with apple + red fruit/ berries (they were unable to confirm what the red fruit was). The filling was pink, clearly not just apple but still the waitress insisted it was bramley apples, then finally acknowledged it wasn't just apple. They didn't ask us about allergens when they took the main, drinks or dessert order today. They (the waitress and a supervisor/manager I called over) were nonchalant when we pointed out that the menu doesn't say apple + red fruit, just says "Bramley Apple Crumble" and more importantly, the menu should list exactly what's in the different dishes ordered, because people have allergies. You're not going to mention being allergic to red fruit/berries when ordering an apple crumble because you're not expecting it being in there & not mentioned in the description. Our friend (who is actually allergic to red Berry fruit) was meant to join us today but didn't, it's a good job - because if she'd ordered Apple crumble and took a bite of what we were served, her airways would have constricted and she'd be on her way to A&E. They were completely unbothered and failed to acknowledge either our disappointment (as we were looking forward to the apple crumble - have had it previously, was amazing) or the seriousness regarding allergens etc. 2. Received a drumstick + a tiny bit of thigh with my roast chicken dinner, in contrast to my friend who received a chicken breast. Waitress agreed to bring me more chicken. 3. I agree with some of the previous comments. The roast certainly isn't what it was. Hardly any veggies (a small portion of greens and no carrots), but offered additional roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds.

Enjoyed everything about the High Field except for a very small and easily-corrected error. The corner table was pushed right up to a window sill at elbow height and made cutting my steak awkward and clumsy. The table needs to be pulled away from the window a little. Food, drink (bottle of Montepulciano, reasonably priced) and service (especially the service) were all great. The smiling, attentive and friendly staff make all the difference.

Every time we come here we have ana amazing Sunday roast. Great value though this time we weren't offered extra roast potatoes or Yorkshire puddings. However, we didn't miss them as the portions are large.

Our food was to a good standard for the price, however we were seated near where a door was constantly being opened to service a private dining area and resulted in cold draughts for our entire experience.

Hey Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! I'm happy to read you enjoyed our food, we will look into the issue regarding the door & cold draughts to ensure this does not hinder your experience within the future with us. Thank you, Louis

The live musicians (not notified in advance) killed the atmosphere for what was meant to be a reunion meal out. Twice the waiter brought out wrong dishes.

Food was good but our Bille was overcharged by almost 30£. Items on the bill were correct but should’ve been charged as course menu. Such a shame. If they weren’t using the set course menu pricing it would’ve been nice if we were informed.
