Located in the heart of Lymington, The Highstreet Kitchen offers a relaxed dining experience focusing primarily on local sustainable food, working with dedicated local farmers and producers. The restaurant has been a dream for Gavin Barnes for over a decade and it has now become a shared vision for the whole team.

Fantastic lunch that exceeded our expectations! Great set menu of fresh seasonal ingredients, terrific service, cosy restaurant and quality interior. Fabulous value for money! Will definitely be going back!!

Delicious food. Good choices on menu, both familiar dishes and some with a little extra addition, the beetroot starter was very good as was the passion fruit souffle and all the mains too. Well-staffed

Seasonal menu, so it doesn’t stay the same as some places do. Beautifully cooked and presented food. Hard to please husband most enthusiastic. Staff efficient and friendly. Good choice of wine. Two of us had a glass each which meant it wasn’t too expensive. Good value for the quality of the food. It would be lovely for a special occasion.

Comfortable place with attractive furnishings. Having skipped a starter, we waited a good 30 minutes for our main courses. I had the pheasant, an ample portion served with dauphinoise. However, the food was tepid as was the plate, even the sauce, poured from a danity jug, was tepid. When asked, I said that the potatoes were tepid and was offered more. I did'nt need or want more, I just wanted to send the whole dish back so they could start from scratch and then serve it to me hot!! Obviously, I wasn't going to ask for this and wait again! There were a number of wines under£35 a bottle and the 2 we sampled were good. The banana souffle was wonderfully sweet. I don't know what went wrong at the Pass but I won't be going back to sample, potentially, more luke warm mains!

Dear Eve We really appreciate your feed back, when we table check it is our opportunity to check everything is ok with your food, it is a standard procedure that we use to make sure our customers are happy and if there is a problem we can rectify it straight away. You were offered some fresh hot food to be sent but you declined, this could have been rectified very quickly. Regards to a thirty minute wait for your mains, no starters were ordered and two 10oz rib eye steaks were ordered with two different cooking temperatures, so both take different times and then have to be well rested. We take pride in our food and we believe we do good food not fast food.

A disappointment as previous reviews had set high expectations. Two of us had the Ling fish which was a small portion, over cooked and hard to remove from the skin. Mentioned twice to staff but no meaningful acknowledgement, very disappointing.

Consistently the best restaurant in Lymington. Always a wonderful fine dining experience. Each course beautifully crafted . The ling was delicious & the banana souffle amazing. And as ever the service was first class.
