A beautiful village pub recently fully restored with a historic beamed bar, cosy snug room & elegant restaurant. A classic English beer garden and seating area to the front are great for Al fresco drinking and dining. 8 Brand new bedrooms opened during the summer 2016. We are proud partners with Lacons brewery and feature their range of top quality craft Ales.

Our food features traditional favorites as well as some interesting and great tasting contemporary dishes. Bar snacks and nibbles together with starters, mains, puddings and a children's menu ensures there is something for all tastes and occasions. From a scotch egg & a pint to a lovely 3 course celebration meal!

    Very welcoming. When booking we requested to sit in the bar area, but it happened to be very noisy. Because my husband wears a hearing aid we asked to be moved to the dining area. The waitress didn’t hesitate and relocated us to a more comfortable area. The food was really lovey and we will definitely be back in the new year.

    Went for the Sunday roast. You won’t want starter AND pudding with their helping!!! great roast dinner and an amazing pudding. Service was exceptional as always. Many thanks for a great lunch. Will be back!!

    Great food and service as usual. Was a bit noisy today, but due to Christmas works lunches it was to be expected. The staff shouting over the diners very loudly to get people’s attention was perhaps a bit much. Made us jump a few times.

    A few friends had recommended this pub. We had an excellent night out in this cosy but well appointed pub. The food was superb, both mains and desserts and the service was really really good - polite, attentive, humourous and absolutely on top of things. For the level of service and scrumptious food, this place is brilliant value and we will definitely be back. Thanks for a really memorable visit!

    Really tasty burgers for 2 + great profiteroles and chocolate mousse cake desserts. Prompt service, although busy - unlike another venue where it took 30mins at end of meal to pay! Good to see a pub with enough staff to allow landlord to circulate and chat to customers keeping eye on service etc. We were staying overnight as well and room was excellent, and good value. Breakfast was as good as evening meal, saw lots of people coming in ( not staying there), so reputation must be good, too.

    Early meal before heading onto an event in Norwich. Very Christmassy and cosy. Enjoyed the food. Would visit again.

    An enjoyable meal in good surroundings. Comfortable seating. Well recommended. We had no warning that the road was closed after turning off the A 47. Some signage would have been welcomed. Fortunately my husband new another way to find the pub after returning to the A 47. If not we would have been quite late for our meal. Not the pub's fault though.
