The Hornet has been serving the community of Denver for more than 25 years now, and it has become a favorite for locals and visitors alike. Located just a few doors away from Denver's finest independent movie house, The Mayan Theatre, it makes a great stop combo for dinner & a movie. Our happy hour kicks off each day at 4pm and goes until 7pm and features $4 draft beer & wine and also $3 off all appetizers.

Some of the top items on the menu at The Hornet include artichoke heart fritters, cheese and potato pierogis, prime rib french dip, honey stung fried chicken, cubano sandwiches and the lobster mac & cheese. The Hornet has a number of burger options as well. You could even have a private event at the restaurant. It is also nice for a date night.

Food was great. I had the Flat Iron Steak. Sweet tea bourbon smash. Which was good. However 14.00 for a thin glass of ice tea crammed with Ice and 1/4 cut lemons? That was a lovely presentation but take all of that out, there was less than 1/2 of a glass of liquid in there. 14.00 dollars that’s a lot. 27 for flat iron steak- it was as good don’t get me wrong. We are all feeling the pinch of inflation, basically it’s 50.00 all in for the above. Is a lot for a meal that should be about 30/35. But the service was great. The food came out perfectly.

Service was excellent. Absolutely great. Food was amazing. Loved how many gluten free delicious options there were.

Best gluten-free fish and chips ever! And the French fries were outstanding! Fun atmosphere.

I had a reservation, the restaurant was not busy and we were seated promptly. We're given virtually no time before a server was at tableside to ask if we were ready to order. We'd barely had time to scan to pull up the menu. We did order beverages. Within a few minutes a different server came to ask if we were ready to order. We sent her away. Finally the 3rd time a server came we were ready to order. We ordered 2 appetizers and a sandwich to share knowing we'd fill up on the appetizers. In a reasonable amount of time the server brought the sandwich we'd ordered. We asked about the appetizers, she made a comment I didn't catch, left and came back with the appetizers. We set aside the panini in favor of the appetizers, when we got to the panini it was cold. I realized I should have sent the panini when it arrived out of menu sequence but the server should have realized it too. The good was tasty and the rest of service without incident.

Great options for those looking for gluten free items, but the quality wasn’t entirely worth what we paid. Fantastic service though!

Very good food, super fast service after we were able to order. There was a delay when we asked for 2 minutes for one member of our party of 5 to finalize their decision and we had to ask an additional server to get our server after 12 minutes.

There are so many good things to say about The Hornet. We live quite a distance from the area but try to make it down there once a month nonetheless, and it is worth the trip every time. The food and service are both great and the Happy Hour deals and reasonable dinner prices make The Hornet a must visit.
