* The Iguana Restaurant is an open-air restaurant, that overlooks the city of Puerto Vallarta and serves contemporary Mexican cuisine in an elegant ambiance. Retractable walls take advantage of gentle coastal breezes and crystal chandeliers add soft light while water dances in the adjacent courtyard fountain. The dining room wraps around an outdoor patio with shady palms and another central fountain. In between is nestled the boutique Tequila Bar, serving a wide array of top-flight tequilas and mezcals.

    Piden respetar un código de vestimenta incluso lo refuerzan por correo y nos encontramos en el tiempo que estuvimos personas en shorts, con playeras e incluso alguno con sandalias plásticas, si anuncian código de vestimenta este debe ser respetado

    The food, drinks , wine and service were excellent! We had the pork shank, short rib and mahi mahi dinners. Delicious!

    This was our first time to The Iguana, and it was absolutely incredible from the time we walked into the door to our lovely hostess, the view, the atmosphere, and our amazing server, Aldo. With Aldo’s incredible suggestions we enjoyed the squash blossoms, the pumpkin soup (mind blowing), the local fish and the Angus fillet. Thank you for giving us an amazing evening and looking forward to seeing you guys next year.

    Spectacular setting for a romantic Valentine’s Day Dinner. The staff at the Iguana always goes out of their way to provide wonderful memories

    Horrible transfobic experience with mediocre food What a horrible experience! Starting off with the hostess, Denise, refusing my trans partner and I access, despite reservations, under the claim that they “are a man, and cannot wear sleeveless shirt”, whereas countless female guests where wearing next to nothing, let alone sleeves. For such an iconic place, in a clearly LGBTQIA oriented town, it is surprising that the staff does not have more respect and understanding for gender diversity. It was not a tanktop, but a nice, purple, silken vest/pants set, that even got several compliments from other guests, while Denise had to validate that we could be seated at the table we had booked in advance. Such poor standards. Such poor taste. And such a transfobic atmosphere. In addition to poor service and transphobia, the food was also mediocre and ridiculously priced for the lack of quality. Considering that Mexican food is broadly acknowledged for use of seasoning, the food was bland and uninspiring. I would highly recommend that this establishment gets surpassed whenever you are looking for dining options in Puerto Vallarta.

    Always a lovely ambiance and experience at the Iguana Restaurant. Service is always very good, although we were never approached after receiving our meals to see if we were enjoying them. We ordered the Poblano Black Bean Soup to start, which is a must when you dine here. For our entrees we had the Shrimp Diablo which was okay. It had a nice complement of shrimp but it could have been more spicy. The other entree was the Portobello Mushroom which was also okay. It lacked flavour and was served to look like a burger, which I found surprising. Overall, we found our meal to be very pricey for what we ordered. We wouldn’t be in a rush to come back other than for the view.

    Reserved based on a recommendation and was curious to experience the history of early P.V., Elizabeth Taylor's home and the famous bridge to Richard Burton's home. The experience delivered, but did feel the price was "on the higher side". Ate at three high end places, Cafe Des Atristes, La Capella and Iguanas. Iguanas has a great view toward the South (mountains and town), and a decent ocean view for sunset, but from what I saw not all tables would be positioned well for it. Wait staff was prompt, and seemed to be enjoying themselves (all except our waiter, who was very devoid). Food was good, not spectacular. We ordered mid range items and 2 drinks each and a dessert and our tab topped $300.00 I could see spending close to $500 with wine, or a higher priced menu item. #2 of our 3 higher end dining.
