Beautiful decor and experience walking into the restaurant but the wow factor ends there. We waited 20 minutes to be seated. Granted the manager tried to do some service recovery by offering us complimentary house cocktails, but since a few of us don't drink alcohol, they replaced it with 2 pieces of mochis. Service was inattentive. We had to keep trying to get the staff's attention to order or request anything. The food was tasty but portions are small, even the large plates. We had 4 large plates between the 3 of us, and still walked away feeling unsatisfied.

Ivy Asia did not live up to our expectations having dined in other Ivy restaurants. Why 'night club music' needed to be played so loud was beyond me and killed conversation. The ambience was a little too dark, I was not alone using the torch on my phone to read the menu, found that frustrating so too the easy choice of a set menu. Sadly this will be our one and only visit to an Ivy Asia. I will say food was ok, service was friendly and efficient.

The food and service is outstanding, the ambiance and atmosphere is second to none to Brighton. 13.5% service charge is above what I'd choose to pay (10%) but I couldn't fault the staff.

Food was lovely though could have been a bit hotter. Service was excellent - helpful suggestions for how many dishes etc.. and very attentive. We felt the experience was ruined to a certain extent by the loud disco music being played. It was too loud and just not necessary. Some quieter more subtle music would have been nicer and in keeping with the lovely decor and ambience

A very enjoyable evening was slightly spoiled by poor service. The staff were very attentive but my food arrived at our table 6 minutes before my wife’s. When we go out to dine together we assume we will be eating together. When I raised it with the waitress she simply said the food was delivered when it was ready. I told her I wasn’t happy about it but she just repeated the same line and thereafter was somewhat grumpy with us. Nothing I have read indicates this kind of dining is to be expected at the Ivy.

Waited for ages to be seen (birthday dinner for my wife and with our 2 teenage children) and to be seated when arriving (5-10mins) and gave up waiting and walked in to seek acknowledgement we'd arrived and a welcome in the end. Got to the table eventually and waited ages to be asked for drinks. Food came at all different times (like much cheaper Wagamama's) and meant one of my children sat there without food he had ordered for about 10-15mins whilst everyone else was eating. He was the most hungry and it ruined his evening and mood at the table for all. Food seemed average at best. Service was slow. We asked for cutlery and whilst most was delivered within 5mins, I waited personally a further 10mins for a fork, as if the waitress totally forgot, which I'm sure she did. At dessert time, a waitress brought birthday dessert with a candle (which was a nice touch) but instead of giving it to my wife, who's birthday it was and was made clear in the booking notes I submitted online, the waitress handed it to my son, which kind of killed the moment really. Overall a disappointing experience and very over-priced for what it was. As it was so poor we ordered minimal drinks and no dessert or coffee. We were keen to leave, which is very rare for us. We would most likely have spent a further £50-100 had the experience been much better. Only positives: Cocktails were nice, the restaurant was stunning to look at, the floor especially and it was a nice lively atmosphere too. The Ivy next door, we've been to 4-5 times and would rate that 9-10/10 in every way. Like night and day between the two really. Such a pity.
