   As always great but 2 things the chick pea curry needs to be in the set menu and the dumplings had a different flavour today to normal - the sauce had changed. I prefer to the old recipe

   Had the most wonderful time with our Spanish friends. The food was amazing and it was good value for money! I always visit the one at St Paul’s but this is just as nice and swanky .

   It's a good concept. In the row of 5 tables we sat in - middle table, we notice that table 1 had issues with orders and delivery of food. The table next to us had all sorts of issues with the waiter - which meant that at least 2 others had to intervene. The table to our right was being given complimentary drinks as an apology for poor service. I suppose that should have been a warning. Some snacks ordered arrived within I would say 4 minutes. That is when things began to unfold. My wife selected the black cod and I had ordered some sushi. One hot dish and one cold. Please we said, may we have them arrive at the same time? No issue. Well about 30 minutes later the sushi. We waited. Waited some more. We enquired. It will be here soon. So I began. The cod had to be chased 4 times. 4 times we were given different ETA's. We asked if the manager could possibly come and speak. A few minutes later a gentleman arrived. Neither my wife nor I can recall being given a name. He has a beard. I asked if they were struggling with staff today. No he responded in curt terms. I asked because we know it happens and it would explain the shambles in terms of our order and those around us. BY now the table right next to us had left - exiting before any food was delivered. The manager then asked what our problem was. Aggressive. I explained. He informed us that we "could not choose when the food came out and in what order - they did. I explained we understood the concept but had asked if it was possible to deliver a hot and cold order at the same time. He was rude. He uttered words such as sorry, sincerity was completely absent. He was inflammatory . He was rude. He did not wish to actually address what was a blindingly obvious problem with service that day. He did not care. This in fact for us was underscored when another member of the team came and apologised for him. So in all - food is ok. Venue is ok. Staff - need training and managing. Manager needs replacing as he the problem.

   Firstly I would like to stress that the service from all of the staff was excellent. The biggest problem was that every single dish that the 4 of us ordered was brought to the table within 10 minutes, which resulted in a) a very overcrowded table so we had to eat quickly to clear space for more dishes and b) a very unrelaxing experience as it was all very rushed and there was no time to enjoy the different flavours, textures etc. The cold sushi was delivered along with the wonton crackers, at the same time as the hot vegetarian curry and the popcorn squid, swiftly followed by pork gyoza, wagyu rolls, teriyaki salmon etc. Meanwhile, our drinks, which were ordered before we ordered the food didn't arrive until we chased them so we had no time to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. I understand the concept of dishes arriving when they are ready but the kitchen (which was not over-stretched as the restaurant was operating at a maximum of 35% capacity) should be able to stagger them, or the servers should know to not put the whole order in at once. The food was nice but the somehow still-instagramable decor (I thought everyone had moved on) caused the table next to us to continuously take photos WITH THEIR FLASH ON, which was rather irritating. No-one minds people taking pictures but when there is constant flashing it starts to interfere with other guests. I feel that the staff could have politely asked them to not use the flash; no-one else felt the need so I am sure their photos would have come out just as good without!

    First visit to any of the The Ivy Asias and already planning to return with daughters. I visited at lunchtime and the room and the atmosphere in the room was perfect, chatty, energetic and the staff were lovely and efficient. The food was delicious. I had the Dragon set lunch menu ( my husband, a la carte) & the tempura prawns were so wonderful I could have just feasted on them and been happy. The salt and pepper beef was delicious but I wasn’t so keen on the panna cotta - presentation and dry ice was great but why was it green and I would not have guessed that it was coconut - on the other hand the birthday treat was sublime and much appreciated. I highly recommend the pineapple and cherry negroni too!
