   That was an amazing lunch today at the Ivy Marlow Garden. The food was incredible and great drinks as well. We loved the blackened Cod, the Shepherds Pie, and Chicken Milanese, which were excellent. The service was quick and prompt.

   We had booked for 5 people then one of the party changed to reservation to 8 and ask the restaurant to tell the others. This didn’t happen so the table was changed back to 5 people by the first of the party arriving as they were not aware. The food was very good, one person ordered flat iron chicken and was later told sold out. Service was a bit slow as we were sat without drinks for a while. Didn’t feel rushed to leave the table which was good. But overall it was an enjoyable experience.

   If you choose the Christmas set menu you end up paying £15 more than if you simply order from the a la Carte menu for the same items!! Be aware of this. I had previously paid £55 pp for the set menu then returned to the same Ivy restaurant in Marlow and then found even if you choose the most expensive items on the a la carte menu it was cheaper than going with the set menu ….

   It’s not always easy being a vegan and dining at a restaurant that doesn’t specialise but tonight I was blown away by the quality of the food which was so flavourful. There wasn’t a huge amount of choice for me but I had the Asian salad and the plant based curry and they were bursting with flavourful ingredients. It’s just an annoyance that there were so many vegetarian dishes that could have so easily be veganised. All five of us enjoyed our meals, the service was great - as always - and the cocktails were scrumptious. It is such a shame that the side of Brussels sprouts had butter on them meaning I couldn’t have them, and I absolutely love them so had to miss out for the sake of substituting cow butter with plant butter. But all in all it was a lovely night out and The Ivy put on so many speciality Christmas foods and drinks. If you’re a meat eater you will love this place as the food choices are vast.

   Our server was pleasant, however drinks took a long time to arrive. We waited 25 minutes for our second drink. Steak medium/ well but it was very much well cooked. No steak knife offered. Food was ok

   Overall we were disappointed with the cost of the two course Christmas meal. At £55 per head the price point was excessive when compared to the other options on the menu.

   Beautiful decoration for Christmas in the restaurant, sets a lovely atmosphere. Lovely afternoon tea and my friends and I all different age groups loved the whole experience. We were looked after, great service

    The staff at the start were lovely and we did arrive late however they did move us so we were able to stay longer which was nice so thank you. The staff member serving us after wasn't the happiest and one of the hosts but overall most of the staff there were lovely as you receive at an Ivy. Sunday chicken roast was ok nothing special I have had better. Was surprised they do not have a vegetarian roast. But overall I do like an Ivy and I would go back to that branch. :)
