The three of had a lovely time. The place is elegant and friendly. The service was excellent We did the price fixed and found the food to be delicious and the portions quite big but bc the food was so good we all over ate. I look forward to going back maybe for a happy hour at the beautiful bar. Thanks for a very nice time on such a crumby rainy night

We had a 6:30 reservation and from the time we sat down to the time we left it was a great experience! We started with the calamari appetizer which was fried perfectly and the addition of cherry pepper “chips” (sliced cherry peppers lightly dredged in the calamari coating, and then fried) was a nice pop of heat. It added another layer of flavor that was unexpected, but very welcome. My wife got the Steak Frittes. The steak was cooked perfectly and fries had great flavor. I got the whole branzino and was not disappointed! The fish was cooked perfectly and the taste was phenomenal! We will definitely be returning!

The food was very good. We all had the bronzino and it was delicious. I started off with Kumamoto oysters that were fresh and just right. The music playing was pretty loud for a restaurant but otherwise we had an enjoyable evening.

This restaurant is a WOW from the second you walk in the front door (which is actually in the back). From the decor, professional service, food and many special touches that I won't mention so as to not ruin your visit. You'll leave knowing that you'll be back! Enjoy!

Had a wonderful experience at The James. The hostess was lovely. Our table was ready shortly after we arrived, but we enjoyed a drink at the bar In the meantime. it was a busy Saturday night and the crowd was lively. The waitstaff was very attentive and made great recommendations. The steak, asparagus, and french fries were phenomenal.

The establishment exudes an enchanting allure reminiscent of the opulent Gatsby era, with its sultry jazz melodies and an ambiance that transports one to the vibrant 1920s. The cocktails, masterfully crafted at the bar, were indeed a delightful highlight of the evening, showcasing a commendable balance of flavors and creativity. However, the culinary offerings fell short of expectations; the roasted chicken, in particular, was regrettably dry and lacked the finesse one anticipates from a venue of this caliber. Unfortunately, the service did not rise to meet the standards set by the surroundings. Our waiter, though well-meaning, displayed a troubling inattentiveness, resulting in several missteps with our order that detracted from the overall experience. In a setting so rich in atmosphere and potential, it is disheartening to encounter such lapses. While the enchantment of the place may beckon one to return, the dining experience leaves one pondering whether the allure is enough to overshadow the shortcomings.

This was our second time going to The James. Our first experience was when it first opened and we were disappointed in the food as it was bland. This experience was terrific! The food was amazing and quite a difference over our first experience. I really wanted this place to work out because we live nearby and dine out often. We are so happy for the improvements. Everyone loved their dinners! Our only “complaint,” is the noise level. It was difficult to carry on a conversation. Other than that, everything else was great…the ambiance, the service, the food! We will definitely be returning!
