Positioned on the East Side Beltline trail, The James Room is a dark and moody cocktail lounge that is meant to be a place where you can leave your stresses at the door and immerse in the energetic vibrations of our cozy and intimate space. Upon entry, an upscale coffee shop takes your gaze. During the day, the cafe intriguingly offers unique flavors such as sea salt lavender and rosemary sage, or you can opt for a classic vanilla or caramel addition to your joe if you fancy. A few paces away is an inconspicuous door disguised as a bookcase, leading to the speakeasy area equipped with a peculiar mood. The atmosphere feels intimate yet communal and invokes a sense of leisure. The fine leathers and premium seating upgrade your typical lounge visit to an elevated, exclusive treat. As always service, and food were excellent and I would invite any and everyone to visit at least once (you will return).

Love this place and definitely will be going back. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a grown and sexy vibe.

The setting was great but the attitudes of one of the particular bartenders was terrible. She shouldnt even work with that kind of attitude. (Tall light skinned older woman). The younger guy we had was actually okay. I brought my buddy here who had actually flew in from Africa just a few days ago an ultimately,I felt the need to apologize for the poor experience. I told him thats not how all Atlanta places are like that. Anyways, will not be coming back at all. Drinks were mehh. They placed a lemon in my old fashion instead of orange.

I’ve been to speakeasies all over the US…Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and this place should not be labeled a speakeasy. It’s loud overpriced and crowded. 20% gratuity is unbecoming for marginal service. I had to flag down the server to get another drink and they got 20% gratuity for that. I had to practically beg to be seated on the couch that was unoccupied instead of the small cramped, seating they gave me by the door with a draft and people coming by bumping my date. I’ve tried this place before and didn’t have a good experience. I gave it one more shot, but this is my absolute last 🥃.

Came on a Friday night around 7, party of 2. Getting in was probably the “hardest”/ least smooth part of the process. We didn’t have reservations so had to wait a few minutes no problem. There was a party or 5 waiting to get in so I made a quick reservation and there were plenty of tables. When we were brought in, the bar was pretty empty making us wonder why the (albeit short) wait. The drinks were great, Toki was our bartender and her energy and knowledge will definitely bring us back!

We joined The James Room for a wonderful birthday celebration! The hostess was the absolute best and provided us with a very personal and caring experience including setting up our reserved section with champagne, glasses and flowers! She was the absolute best in answering all my questions and concerns about the occasion and the venue. 10/10 would go back again. It is a beautiful speakeasy and the vibe is one of a kind.
