Islay House is one of Scotland’s grandest and most historic country house hotels, located at the centre of the Queen of the Hebrides, Islay: the Whisky Isle.

Set in 28 acres of public gardens and protected woodland overlooking Loch Indaal, Islay House possesses one of the most naturally beautiful locations in the United Kingdom. From the stunning views across the ornate lawns out to the sea loch to the scenic Bridgend Woods surrounding the house, Islay House offers everything that could be asked of a trip to Scotland.

Our own community garden provides a wealth of island, home grown produce for our kitchen to provide a menu for both residents and non-residents alike. Our menu changes daily to take advantage of the local catch before it makes it way to London and Paris.

                                      It is a lovely venue, the staff were so friendly. The chef came out to meet us which was a lovely touch. They made us feel very special. I would recommend to friends to go to the bar and restaurant when they are in Islay.

                                      Lovely characterful dining room with good service and local produce menu. We really enjoyed our dinner here. I had scallops as a main, my friend had a starter and chicken. Problems were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. So pleased that we stopped to dine here.

                                      Very friendly place. Posh and special. We were visiting with a 3 years old, so we were the noisy table. But staff was very friendly and made special dish for wee one.

                                      Superb food and delightful staff in a lovely hotel. The restaurant room is a bit old fashioned, but the bar is welcoming and stylish.

                                      Getting to my table, I found very nice garden view at the seat. In the garden, there were some rabbits and birds. The staff is very attentive and have various knowledge of Islay Whiskey to ingredient. The main courses, Halibut and Islay beef, were nicely cooked.

                                      We visited this location right after they opened back up after the holidays so it was VERY quiet. We basically got treated to a personal experience as we were the only ones in the restaurant! The food was outstanding and it was such a romantic experience. Would definitely recommend anyone to try out this restaurant.
