Very nice place. Cocktails were delicious and the meal was over the top! Owner was very nice as was all the staff.

We had an amazing time. Hanah was our waitress and added to our experience. I got a NY strip special - Cajun seared with Gorgonzola sauce…incredible. My wife enjoyed the fillet and we both also loved our sides. I look forward to going back and trying some of the wine and liquor tastings. This will definitely become a regular spot for us.

Second time here. We had Hannah. We started with the Brussel sprouts which was okay more of flakes rather then whole sprouts wish there was more sauce for them. got the special which was a steak with a special glaze and a parmesan risotto. It was absolutely delicious and I would get again. We ordered bison as well and it was good a little burnt on the outside but cooked medium rare on the inside.Both wished there was more vegetables on the plate rather then just two pieces of broccoli. For dessert, we got a crème brûlée, which the top of it was a little burnt tasting rather than just crunchy, which is a shame because I love crème brûlée. We also got the chocolate mousse, which was amazing. Definitely would recommend if you were a chocolate person. Hannah was great very knowledgeable when it came to the food and made sure everything was tasting the way we wanted it and expected it to mainly with them having issues with their foods being a little salty recently. We will return for the steak !

Our entire experience at The Lab was amazing. From the time we walked in we were very pleased with how helpful and friendly the staff was. This really added extra comfort to the already relaxing atmosphere of the restaurant. The cocktails were delicious and made perfectly. Not a single person at the table was disappointed by their entree. They served good portions, amazing quality, and overall fantastic food. I can’t wait to go back and will recommend this restaurant to more of my friends. It’s truly a hidden gem in Washington!

First time at The Lab. Was an excellent experience. Our server Mindi was wonderful. Food service and atmosphere are top notch!! Will definitely be back!

Very interesting open concept. Great service. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. A nice variety of food choices were available to suit all of our tastes. We tried cocktails with their house distilled spirits and a house made Cabernet. Beverages and food were delicious. I will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant.

Our biggest complaints were poor value and inflexibility. Because we were presented with only one salad option we both ordered the Caesar salad. It was absurdly small. Each of our salads had four leaves of lettuce and two (big) croutons. Thus, we paid $3.25 per leaf! For the entrées, the two side options were risotto or fried potatoes. When we asked if there were any other options, they said no but then we spotted a nearby table with a different side. The risotto had very little flavor and the potatoes were badly burned. The waitress did not check back until I had eaten half of my steak but then did bring new potatoes. The only vegetable option was asparagus, which my wife loathes. So, she accepted the asparagus and gave it to me. The asparagus consisted of three pieces on each of our plates. Mine was fine, but the asparagus they gave to my wife was seriously over salted. In fairness, my wife’s Tuscan chicken was good and my New York strip steak was good. Lastly, we went on New Year’s Eve and the restaurant was presenting only half of the menu that it listed online. Had we known what would be missing from the menu we probably would not have gone. I appreciate that some restaurants will offer different menus on New Year’s but they should tell you that when you book. Given the poor value and the lack of flexibility we don’t plan to go back.

First (and probably last) time for our party of four. Was excited to try The Lab but was disappointed. The fried calamari app was good; however the stuffed mushrooms were nearly inedible. The mushrooms are raw, large mushrooms with room temp ragu as a “stuffing.” Very unappetizing. Our Tuscan chicken was very good, as were the pan-roasted fingerling potatoes. Both were warm/hot when served. The risotto was bland and cold with no Parmesan flavor at all. The sea bass was a 4oz piece of overdone fish and was not worth $51.00. The Caesar salad was three romaine leaves and two large croutons for $13.00. The waitress quoted &11 for a bourbon; however it was $13 on the bill. A small thing but the servers should know their products and accurate prices. Or at least let the customer know their products’ real cost before getting the final bill. Nice atmosphere and maybe great for tastings but overall, the food value isn’t there.
